You wouldn't be giving up a first in that mock trade.
That would be the point, if you get rid of Myers with trading down and picking up other pieces, you could use those others pieces to acquire someone through trade or through free agency to not see Bear on the first pairing.
The comments on here are just discussion of potential players. Each prospect is going to have something negative about them, if not they would be talked about top 5. The fact is that most NHL scouts or former scouts that now do public rankings have said he good this draft looks.
Most have compared this forward group to the group of 2015. Where Joel Eriksson Ek, Boeser, Konecny, Beauvillier all picked 20th or later. - manvanfan
JEE is the only player on that list that I would have interest in.
I hope Canucks consider moving Beauvillier, I see Flyer fans always including Konecny as a player they would want to move and we all know BB is a hard piece to move.
The three players that I mentioned are types that can be picked up in free agency any year and you don't have to overspend. Example Mikheyev, even though some here don't like him I do.

I got called an idiot many times for thinking that when I gave some possible projections when he was called up. One of the guys on that list was Akira Schmid. (NJ goalie) Who split time this year in AHL/NHL. NJ was also a very good team with a strong D in front of him. Van does not look like they will be as good as NJ was this year. - manvanfan
Silovs is a cool cucumber. I think he is really close, I would not be upset if they sent him down one more year but I would also be okay if he played 30 games her next year.

I know that. I guess I didn't express properly that he is the only one on the list that I think he is a quality player that was definitely worth the draft pick.
The other three gave serviceable years and are not bad picks but also not great picks. I think JEE is a great pick for Minny.

IMO he got beaten out of a spot by Dakota. I don't see a big upside like some of you guys do. Not complaining about him but I am also not a big fan of his. I think he is a lighter version of Mikheyev.

He was on a few Selke Ballots and had a breakout offensive year. took a while to develop, as he is 26 and just now looking good. Our fanbase would never have had the patience. |

Yeah he's a stop gap player who will be gone as soon as we can develop a player, so he'll probably be here for several years |

My trade prediction that I am pretty sure will happen this year is Podkolzin Rathbone for Laffy. NYR say yes. |

He's in a contract year, so he'll have a good season. Trade him.

The boy with the cement shoes. We will have two Boeser's to complain about.

I was looking at Yakupov numbers and trade to ST L . Their numbers are pretty similar for the first three years.
Laffy 47 G 91 Pts.
Yakupov 42G 88Pts.
Edmonton got a second rd pick and some no name player Pochiro. |

He will be getting a long look for the backup position I think. - neem55
Some guys are on another level when playing for their country |

He had a great year in Abby, he's earned a shot at the back up position based on his AHL numbers alone.

I see that but I'm saying from a draft stand point in a deeper draft, those types of players teams are able to find at those spots.
Every team has homer fans that say dumb poop, just look at everything Ruby says about Petey not being good or Hughes sucking.
I don't mind Mikky but I think he was overpaid by a bit. You don't draft players like that early is what Allvin mentioned in the scouting video last season. He wants more impact players earlier on but if you are drafting later, those types might be BPA's. |

He's tall, he's long, he's agile. He does need refinement. I'd let him play nightly in the AHL for at least the first half of the year. |

I know you are not in favor of it but I would still be willing to do JTM and our first to CBJ for their first.
I seen your comment of what if he turns out to be another Kirby Dach. I think taking Millers 7 years off the books is worth the risk. Dach is a third line center but Millers NMC is a commitment I would not take.

I was surprised how long that experiment lasted. 3 on 2's and Joshua was dumping and chasing with Petey and Kuzmenko crossing the blue line. After seeing that more than a few times, the hockey sense didn't seem high end to be that 3rd wheel in a top 6. |

I don't like the price of it, I think it makes everything they have done for a year completely pointless. |
