It’s funny in the early part when he got Petey and QH and there was still hope OJ and JV could still develop JB was getting draft praise. Then his trading kept gutting the future and it just kept going downhill.
Canucks have one certainty and it’s failure through and through. |

30 days till the draft.
Can't wait for some team to over rate the size of a junior player, draft them too high only to realize that once they aren't bigger than anyone else they don't have the hockey sense to make an impact in the NHL. |

11. VANCOUVER CANUCKS
Team Pick: Nate Danielson, C | Our Pick: Andrew Cristall, LW
Vancouver’s management has spoken ad nauseam about the need for strong depth in the middle. Danielson fits that mold to a tee, and with Reinbacher off the board, we expect them to take the big center. He put up good numbers in the WHL season, boosted by excellent power-play production. There are concerns about his development curve and inconsistent effort away from the puck. For our pick, we went with the high-ceiling Vancouver boy in Andrew Cristall. His U-18s left a sour taste, but there is no denying his high-end skill and hockey sense. He can be a game-changer at the NHL level, and that’s exactly what the Canucks need. |

I agree with your take. Chicago deserves to get a poopty player like Connor Bedard. He's never going to help them.
Just kidding Ruby, I don't agree with that hot take. |

We all know you’re really a closet Canucks fan that just hasn’t come out yet. Maybe you could do story time in the local Calgary libraries wearing Canucks apparel. |

I was alive when he played for the Canucks. Not sure I remember him when I was 3 years old though. |

5 WHL players for the Canucks to target with their 5 mid-round picks by Chris Faber @ Canucksarmy.
Carter Sotheran, 6’3”, RD, Portland Winterhawks
We really like this kid’s profile as a third or fourth-round pick.
Connor Levis, 6’2”, RW/C, Kamloops Blazers
His shot and decent speed are undoubtedly worth a mid-round pick.
Jaden Lipinski, 6’3”, RW, Vancouver Giants
The biggest weakness in Lipinski’s game is his skating and that’s likely why he will slide out of the first two rounds. If a team is confident that they can develop his skating, you may even see him have his name called somewhere in the second round.
Sawyer Mynio, 6’0″, LD, Seattle Thunderbirds
He’s not going to blow anyone away when he is selected somewhere in the 90-150 range
Yegor Sidorov, 5’11”, RW, Saskatoon Blades
Sidorov is a solid pick in the fourth round and the Canucks have three picks in that round.
I would take Sotheran, Levis, Lipinski with the Canucks mid round picks. If they could swing all 3 with the 4th round picks that would be very good value.
All players that if you they can develop just a bit that they could be good replacement level players with size. Guys that are the Joshua or Aman types. |

I’m hoping for the trade-back scenario with the Khawks, best move they could make. |

Which means it won't happen. They will trade the pick for a 31 year old, 5' 10'', 170lb defenseman. |

Success comes from stacking one good drafted player on top of another, which takes time, not from one individual player. The Boston model. |

Wait and see who is still available there. I've seen some people talking to scouts that Reinbacher and ASP could be gone before the Canucks pick. That might help someone drop.
I do think that between Simashev, Bonk, Dragicevic, Price, Strbak that if they trade down they could pick up at least 2 of those players and all could be different levels of 2nd pair defenders in the future. |

Look at someone like Detroit that they have drafted Seider, Edvinsson, Wallinder wouldn't hurt them to draft a smaller puck moving defender that might add to their PP a bit more in ASP. Since they got rid of Hronek. Stevie going with the Canuck model and all his Swedes.
Flyers haven't drafted a 1st round D in a while. Danny going to start the rebuild off with Reinbacher possibly.
It's hard to say. It gives me anxiety
Van's in that spot where as I've said could be 8 different players taken there. |

That’s what I Am understanding a lot of good players at the same level will be there at 11OA. So no BPA just draft for need or take the risk that player they want is there on a trade down. |

It's about time this team lucked out, hopefully with a player that exceeds expectations. Best C or D available. I'll make a guess at each after Bob's final ranking is out.
