“Let me get this straight... Vegas has been in the league for 6 years and has made the Conference Finals 4 times and the Cup Final twice.
Vancouver has been in the league for 53 years and has made the Conference Finals 3 times and the Finals 3 times.
Hockey is cruel.”

Vegas took a bunch of middle six forwards and built a competitive team, goes to show you how extremely talented guys are that make the league. When given minutes they took advantage of those minutes. They also haven’t sat idle, they’ve been active as an organization leaving no stone unturned. |

I will give Mcphee alot of credit plus the loopholes he found there. Having said that they were gifted a pretty damn good club under Gary's new expansion rules. While all other expansion teams had to go through 'the process' Vegas did not. Still a damn good team however. |

Puts a spin on the whole draft and develop model, given their picks have not actually been very good at all |

Yes, the rules were different than what they were in the 70’s but they just made good selections and they weren’t gifted any stars. William Karlsson was their leading scorer their first year and his career high was 9 goals 25 points. Reilly Smith was a 50 point middle six forward, still is. Marchessault had one good season in the NHL, his first full season, he was an unknown. Their success was not a given, it was more of a surprise. |

Ya they weren’t gifted anything, it was expertly done. Still cheering for Florida though |

So you can make trades for players you think have not utilized their potential or is that pissing away your assets on long shots?

I think it’s going to be a banger. No heavyweights, but some gritty players and solid d. Going to be interesting, see if bobs stays white hot |

It sucks to trade guys, Forsling cleared waivers multiple times before figuring it out though. Could have had him back. Goes to show its system, timing as much as player sometimes. |
