Canucks were winger heavy and Hogs and Podz being waiver exempt made it easier to send them down.

Have they earned spots to be NHL regulars? Not yet. Can they? Well that’s what taking the time to find out should reveal. There is always that sell high on a JV or OJ or stay patient for a Forsling or Mcann kind of call with young players.

If you aren't able to at least be able to stick by your D+3 season (even if it's only in a bottom pair/bottom 6 role), generally that's a sign that you aren't good enough to be an NHL regular and moving on should be at the very least be considered. It's one thing if they're being sent down because they're clearly good enough but lack room for playing time but that's not the case here. Hogs and Podz aren't exactly prospects anymore, I'd consider them projects and maybe failed ones at that. I don't seem them as anymore then AHL regs and potential call-ups and there's plenty of those available.

Played with a former college player today from 6800 yards, he’s 6’5” 160 pounds, damn that kid could pound the ball. He shot 73, I shot 84….but I had four beer to his none, so that’s a win in my books.

Tranny Beer or Cheap unWoke beer?

I haven't had a beer in years but what I do remember is even a bad beer is better than a good day at work.

Typical stupid question. Wtf does that have to do with anything? I’m sure you can think of better comebacks, try a little harder next time.

I seriously doubt it.

Michelob Ultra, nice light beer….I think it’s made by Anheuser Busch, same as Bud Light. Tranny beer.

He was a healthy scratch several times in Abby.

I agree.
But at least he was a second round. The Joulevi pick was just dumb when Sergachev was the highest ranked D man and available and Chychrun had fallen down the rankings but at one point early in that season was ranked #2 overall.

- I-own_da-Northwest

Juolevi was ranked higher than Sergachev and Chychrun. It was a terrible pick but no reason to exaggerate

Can't Abbotsford just sign him?

Waste of a contract.

Yup. Joelevi, Chychrun then Serg. A lot of people on here had Laine over Matthews too

lol well done man. I played Olds in Alberta with an ex-pro and he shot 69 from the pro tees yawning and I shot 79 from the blue tees and had to scramble.

He was 340 off almost every long par 4 -5.

It's a game that's alien to me they hit it so fucking long...

Yes, a completely defendable pick if Tkachuk wasn’t there

Even Turtlechuk was thought to be a risk due to skating and I believe an ankle injury pre-draft that had some people worried

A lot of us were on team Tkachuk, c’est la vie. Work in the present I say. I’m team draft D pretty much every year.

If that’s the standard then non NHL development is not part of the process.

That is not correct.

Not sure if you are familiar with Shane Malloy, author of "the art of scouting". Followed around scouts and NHL personnel while writing his book.

He always gives tidbits about things like that and what NHL teams actually think vs what the public does.
