^This entirely! No need to waste a pick from the first 4 rounds. - Shuswap Wap
I'd be OK using one of our 4th round picks. Unless they package all 3 of them for something useful. |

Sorry for your incurable condition but it’s okay you don’t have to be afraid. Canuck failures can comfort your cognitive challenges. |

Are you (frank)in retarded? Vegas drafted Karlsson, Theodore, Marchessault, Riley Smith, Brayden McNabb, Nicolas Hague & William Carrier. Yes some of them were in an expansion draft but they drafted those guys left unprotected by other teams who deemed them expendable. They didn't sign them as free agents!!
They also drafted Krebs and Tuch who they traded to Buffalo for Jack Eichel.....and Oscar Lindberg and Erik Brannstrom who they traded to Ottawa for Mark Stone.
Nick Suzuki was also drafted by Vegas and traded to Montreal for Max Pacioretty, one they probably regret now, but whatever, they continue to use draft equity to compete now.
And if you wanna talk about past champions just look at Colorado and Tampa, who won the last three Cups. Four of Colorado's top five playoff scorers last year were drafted by them, MacKinnon, Makar, Rantanen and Landeskog.
Tampa drafted Stamkos, Kucherov, Point, Hedman, Killorn, Palat and Cirelli, that's their top seven playoff scorers. Not to mention Andrei Vasilevskiy. - LeftCoaster
You proving the point that drafting isn’t everything for the VGK is an amazing feat of self discovery. |

Karim Benzema — one of the greatest strikers of all time — is signing with Saudi club Al-Ittihad, per @FabrizioRomano.
His contract: 3 years, $643 million.
That is absolutely sickening and I love it |

Ronaldo also signed in Saudi to barley play and Messi next at 300M per year in Saudi. The World Cup effect has Oil Rich Middle East nations excited to spend. They are exploding salaries for known stars. The rest of the world will become feeder nations to them if they keep this up.
Let’s hope they don’t get turned on to hockey. It would be over in seconds for the NHL. |

Yaaaa... no. They're signing players at the end of their careers. It's like the MLS on steroids. They'll never achieve anything of worth at home. They've already bought their way into the top leagues in Europe, but they're not going to be a soccer/football powerhouse at any point in their own countries. |

it’s too nice outside to be hateful. This weekend was perfect. I hope it’s a sign of what summer has in store for us in the Lower Mainland. |

Based on the map it's kind of tough to escape the smoke anywhere right now, we got a bunch on Saturday from the fires in northern AB.
We're headed to Toronto this week for a few days, I'm hoping it's not too bad there, the city itself is enough to deal with |

Yes it’s insane money being thrown at veteran players. It’s unlike MLS where Beckham was past his expiry date when he made it to LA. These players were offered big money to stay with their clubs. They still have value. Not saying it’s turned but if they keep doing this at some point it can swing the dynamic. Like how certain national leagues in Europe changed the game to take the top players from other countries.

It's been decades of talk about how Chinese, Japanese, Saudi's are going to offer money to Europeans to create these super leagues and well it's just not happening decades later. |

Many Teams are capped out, a $1 million bump is not enough to get them out of Cap hell. They will be forced to trade away good players or buy them out out, refrain from adding players in free agency to improve because they have no cap space. This is especially bad for the fans. Might be some good cheap free agent deals this summer then. |

Difficult to answer directly. I’ll say no given scoring isn’t the problem & Pod will be cheaper. |

A lot of people on here did not want Caulfield. DCT was totally against him. Good for him that things have worked out on the Habs but does not mean he would do well as a Canucks.

Give it another two years then answer the question. Just starting to see a lot of the 2017 draft class start to do something in the league other than the top few picks.
Hoping Canucks can bring back Kole Lind. Really seems to be finding his stride. Leading the AHL playoffs in scoring. |

They havent drafted squat outside Suzuki and Hague, but they did well to turn those picks/players into stone and eichel. Tampa and Colorado drafed very well. |
