Next season will be important in another way being enticing future UFA’s wanting to come to team on the rise. Obviously meaning making the playoffs is a must. Doable - Nighthawk

The UFA D market isn’t that good for what our needs are. The price of a UFA & what they offer isn’t timely. We need to hope & rely on better team D from this roster for the time being. Adding to that a healthy Miky & kids making strides could go a long ways to better & more consistent hockey. Demko back on his game will be most important. - Nighthawk
That is why I am a firm believer of trade the first for a further developed Dman and not having to go to UFA market.

Hirose up to 15 Myers 12 & PK
Something like that with Hirose probably rotating in & out. - Nighthawk

I say it was for cap reasons & testing the market. The flat cap didn’t offer up trades worth moving him. That was last year & onto this one. It’s fluid & we can fully expect more behind the scenes phoning around on nearly any changes. With all teams pretty assured the cap will go up very significantly in 2024 the market will loosen up. Some teams may pull the trigger sooner leading up to 2024 more so come the TDL. - Nighthawk
So, what you're saying is poor management, both prior and now. Agreed. |

I have to say that I agree with Vantel on this. But just for curiosity’s sake, who would you say are young stars under the age of 22 that are on the cusp of being on the Canucks roster and making a difference in a top6-top 9 role or are going to crack the top 4 on D? - I-own_da-Northwest

Not ideal, but necessary when you keep stockpiling wingers. Get a good one in the right age group, add to the first if required.

He shouldn’t qualify to be on the Canucks either. What a bust that kid is. I take a small amount of satisfaction as he was my most disliked prospect in his draft year. Threw many foam bricks when we chose him 🤢. He is a power forward! He is league average size for forwards. Not much grit, average speed at best, can’t make a pass or contribute defensively. The only slightly above average quality is his shot that he isn’t in the right position to utilize |

Always that & did it for Hronek. The 1st is costly but better than a high priced UFA that we cannot afford.
D cost & we need a true top 4 better if a #3. |

Prior was the big problem to dig out from & still exists. New Mgmt didn’t help but also didn’t make bad deals. They spent found cap & spent it which rankles fans for sure. Give it some time. Healthy Hronek & Miky will prove out one way or the other if Mgmt was right. |

Canucks have built their core with draft picks already at C & D & G with Petey, Hughes, and Demko.
They have picked up young players like Bloom Ratty Bains Aman. They have further along players like Podz Hog and Silovs.
I don't see a need to draft another Raty or Hirose at number 11. I see a need to get a player much like what NYI did with their 13 th last year. That is my take anyways. |

Nobody could have predicted Chatfield would be an NHL player. He is still fringe imo. What exactly does Podkolzin do well? Also, a pretty strange comp |

1st up is what team would move a quality D? Then move on to the cost.
Who is that? |
