I honestly don't know how a 22 year old will be like when he is 26. Every time I have seen him play he seemed to use his size. What I remember is he always played tough. I haven't seen many NJD games this year so I can't say exactly how he would do. - VANTEL
NJD need a steady #1 goalie mostly. They have Nemec coming soon. |

Chatfield has the benefit of deep D ahead of him.
Pod hasn’t been consistent & yet to find an identity. His skill set says he should be a menace puck hound with a motor that doesn’t quit & shows up every game. Burrowsesque - Nighthawk
His most consistent trait is his inconsistency. What on Earth are talking about |

His development got franked sitting on the bench in Russia, they did it on purpose because he wanted to come over sooner. - Bettmanhatesus
He has a lot of skills I like and I am not close to calling him a bust at age 22. Not even remotely close. Lets see in two or three years how he is. I would trade him though if the price was right like a Laffy trade. I am not a Laffy fan but I can see a higher window if he ever got his sh!t together. |

22 year old six foot six , 220 lbs. When I seen him play he is always strong on the body. I don't know what you guys are expecting at Draft spot 11. I would say another Lickhermaki type or Hirose type of D. The top players will be gone. Yes now and then you hit on a McCann or a Boldy after top 10 but most times you will get a Fabro or Gaunce.
Lets face it I am not as high on the draft as you guys are outside the top five. - VANTEL
This a much stronger draft. 15 in a sh!t draft doesn’t equal 11 in a strong draft |

Hughes is also going to be a good D and that is why I think Bahl is on the block.

@Vantel
I don’t see a run on D before our 11th pick. Reinbacher only probably my money is on. If wrong then as I said we’ll pick a C that has 2C upside. No winger I am certain of.
Trade down if wanting D & have a chance at either of Simashev Willander or if it’s ASP then so be it. It’s the sweetener or who we package up for cap space what it comes down to. Yes my annual trade down but it has to be an option if a team looks to move up. Hawks have 3-2nds for example. CBJ is making moves for a PO push & other teams are certain to consider options. |

I like Laffy as a 3rd wheel but question his skating at the NHL level. NYR will ask too much & we need 1-2 wingers out if we somehow take a swing at him. |

Lekkerimaki would most likely go mid 20s in this draft. Hirose would be a 5th round pick.
At 11 in this draft you could grab a 60 point Bo Horvat type who in a re-draft he probably goes 8th at worst in a decent draft class. |

I see Nemec replacing Severson sooner or later in RHD. Hughes will be good but he’s still fitting in. NJD D is looking very enviable for years. |

I think that trade down is a media driven wish. Canucks would be nuts to do it. Get full value for the pick via trade. Many other ways to move Myers if so needed. I am sure once his bonus is paid a team would be willing to take him if Canucks retained. Wait and see what his 10 team NTC list is then move him.

I can use patience on Leki it’s Klimovich that I really want to see take a huge step after some seasoning in the AHL as a very young prospect. Needs to come out of the gate flying like he finished off last season. Time to make a big impact. |

Size. Vantel likes his D big.
He has always liked him since his draft year. We had a friendly bet that year over/under for the 37th pick. I chose over, he chose under. I won.
I never disliked the player and he definitely would be worth the 37th pick in a re-draft but his draft year didn't have the value of a pick that high. |

Shane Doan would have been a good pick up for the Canucks back in 2010/11. He was a good player. No idea if he's a good executive. |

I don't particularly like Boeser but if he puts up 60 points, I can put up with him for 2 years. - VANTEL
In Calgary a 60 point player gets 10.5, so Canucks are getting a deal. |

He has a very good shot, he is a good passer, he is tenacious, good puck retrieval.
I get that you and a bunch of people here don't like him but I will be honest I don't think a lot of people here, myself and you included have very good evaluation skills of young players. So I let everyone chirp about their opinions but it doesn't mean I pay attention to them.

A lot are saying he took a very large step. That first step he took from Belarus jr to AHL was a stupid one by Benning. He should have went to the Q for two seasons but that's hindsight really.
In saying that he needs to continue to be better this season, needs to secure a regular top 6 role in the AHL. Special teams and be consistent a better portion of the nights. |

Exactly so I don't think they will trade down from 11 th to 19 th and Myers will still be a Canuck July first aand then traded to a team not on the list with 3 mil retained and a secound round pick attached to the trade. Then they will sign Bear at 2.2 mil which I am not a fan of.

Starts with what NYR thinks they need to do after a poor playoffs. Gotta believe changes are coming but who or what idk. Not so much a reclamation than he was overrated being great in Jr but didn’t translate into the pros. NYR track record for developing prospects isn’t great. |
