frank the Bruins!!!

"The Rangers’ cap situation is tough but it’s a walk in the park compared to what the Bruins are looking at. Boston has just under $5 million in space with just seven forwards signed (including no first- and second-line center) and Jeremy Swayman needing a new deal after a strong season.

Boston will probably try to subtract a couple of pieces from the blue line but Taylor Hall and his $6 million cap hit are a luxury as well. Hall was an important cog for Boston, and one of its best players in the first round, but he spent large chunks of the season on the third line and only scored 36 points in 61 games, which isn’t good value for his contract.

It’s unlikely that a team would absorb the full freight of Hall’s deal for free, so the Bruins would have to get creative with either sweeteners or retention

6 years ago the Golden Knights had yet to play a game and the Canucks finished in 29th place.

Now the Golden Knights are Stanley Cup champions and the Canucks finished in 22nd place.

Two equally impressive accomplishments in my opinion

Please tell us more about the mighty Bruins.

You mean the team that just last summer I said needed to start rebuilding?

You know, some of you are just too easy.

Sounds familiar.

How is that Hayes contract looking for the Flyers? Should only cost 7 1st rounders, to get rid of.

Plus they're gonna have to retain 50% of it. They're rebuilding so the money doesn't really matter and he helps with losing, so there is that.

Not only is Ruby sucking it over the Bruins and Eichel winning a cup but VHG is sucking It over the smallest player in the finals winning Conn Smythe.
- manvanfan

In fairness, the Conn Smythe could've been awarded to a handful of Vegas players. That entire team destroyed Florida.

They awarded it to the best story, not neccessarily the most valuable player, hard to do when no Vegas player was head and shoulders above the others because of the way they play.

Cap space.....

"Take their salary cap situation. Larry Brooks of the New York Post recently argued that the "greatest weapon" the Golden Knights and the Seattle Kraken were awarded upon entry into the NHL weren't the liberal expansion rules, but their pristine salary cap space.

"If right now teams could renounce their rosters in exchange for $83.5M in cap space entering this offseason, how many do you think would stand pat with current personnel and how many would opt to begin again?" Brooks wrote

Crying over something that’s available to every team is completely disingenuous. LTIR doesn’t count against the cap and there is no cap in the playoffs.

A bit too passive, but I'll give you that. Point is the Naslund's, Sedin's, Horvat's were not leaders. That's a long timespan.

I just think it's funny. Obviously abusing LTIR is the playbook for how to win now, every team should be doing it.
