I just think it's funny. Obviously abusing LTIR is the playbook for how to win now, every team should be doing it. - NorthNuck
They weren't abusing anything, Mark Stone had back surgery, twice, Robin Lehner had hip surgery and Nolan Patrick has major concussion issues. You're trying to portray a completely false narrative. |

Says the guy on HB wasting his time, at least I'm getting paid to talk about hockey...I'm winning, you're just wasting your time. |

It's like they don't actually know what they're talking about but it's a fun and cliché thing to say so you have excuses for your own teams failures. The Canucks were also over the cap, as he would describe it. Why didn't they win the Stanley Cup? |

You're right, Stone recovering just in time to play in the playoffs is a complete coincidence It's the same thing Tampa did with Kucherov.
I'm not complaining about it, just saying I hope the Canucks are smart enough to use the same methods whenever the team becomes good enough to compete. |

And it juuuuuuuuust so happens that Patches and Stone just HAPPENED to go on LTIR in time for Vegas to trade for Eichel and so he could play right? No conspiracy or abuse, just coincidence... nothing to see here. |

Acting like I implied the only reason they won was because of cap circumvention shows how poor your reading comprehension is |

It's not a "coincidence", it's planned by the medical and training staff. They explain to the player that if he wants to play in the playoffs this is your timeline for surgery and subsequent recovery.
For frank sake, they don't just go have surgery so their organization can go over the salary cap. Honest to God, some of the crap written on here never ceases to amaze me!! |

You can't put someone on LTIR without medically proving it for insurance purposes. Also, if any team can put a player on LTIR to just make a trade, as you would describe it, why didn't the Canucks put Myers and OEL on LTIR so they could trade for Eichel? |

You're completely talking out your ass and trying to oversimplify something that isn't simple. Sure, there's an element of planning to it, but it's no where near as underhanded as fans try to explain it and make excuses for it. |

Again, I don't know if you just completely misunderstood me or what, I don't think Vegas won the cup because of LTIR cap space. My original comment literally just said "Vegas won while 14 mil over the cap" and nothing else. |

Speaking of which, I saw an American guy on youtube, who lives in Europe, interviewing people on the streets over there asking what is their present opinion of America....some of them were too funny!!!
One of my favorites was..."a third world country with money" |

Bottom line, they didn't win because of the salary cap, they won because they have a very good and deep hockey team. |

Don't take it personal, I'm just giving you my perspective, which doesn't align with yours. To me you implied they won, in part, because they were 14 million over the salary cap, which I disagree with. Robin Lehner and Nolan Patrick make up 6.2 million of that 14 million and they never played a hockey game this year. |

I saw that. That's just a fancy stat made up by someone to make excuses. Fancy stats are a useful tool, one of many, but they're just like religion, they're just an excuse to help losers cope with failure. |
