Yeah I'm sure they or their fans think they're going to get premium murrancy which I wouldn't do - Hank Balling
This has been perplexing to say the least. I don't know where they're coming from, but this is always the vibe I get from them. I would understand if it was 2020.. but.. it's um... it's not.

(frank) i wouldn't even blame him.
I've softened *a little* on him, and I'm trying to consider how he's just been absolutely bombarded the past 2 years, while playing 109 games in that span. I think there's a small chance he rebounds a little bit, but for the term and money, that's a bad gamble to me.
I'd want an unreasonable trade of like Gibson and Luneau for Olofsson, Bryson and Comrie. - TheSabresTaco
Gibson 750k retained for Olo and a 2. |

As long as washedup thinks so. Otherwise, it's just another in a long line of bad contracts that the Sabres have given out over the last 12 years. - RichardRoma
No doubt the Sabres have been the kings of horrible contracts at large since Pegula's bought the team. But they've done much better as of late. Really well in my opinion. The only really bad move was the Greenway trade. Guy is just in the way. a boat anchor. |

Samson reinfart the ultimate choker....
Playoffs. 517 points per game
Career Regular season .723 points per game
Guy is still small and still doesnt have the compete level needed for the nhl playoffs.
Playing on every pp and short handed 😀
Eichel on the other hand.
Outstanding, just as he was in buffalo |

Samson's invisible, as expected.
Especially during the Stanley cup.
Love to see it. - Boss34
I would take someone who’s scored 7 goals in one postseason on this team, but that’s just me I guess.
If I’m Fla, I’m more concerned with their 10M long term man in Barkov being ass rather than their 6.5M third line winger exceeding said 10M man. |

Eh give him a chance. His game started turning around as time went on. 3M for another two years is hardly an anchor.
This is coming from, seemingly, one of the only people who hated the trade.

none of these are "horrible"
unless hindsight is not considered whatsoever for bryson and comrie.
stillman was actually useful and earned his money.
bryson was paid because he had a good season. comrie is under 2M for 2 years on a prove it based on impressive, limited numbers.
there's mistakes, which, ok. but if we're going to sit here and pine on him for signing these "horrible" contracts. Well. Let's take a look at Brent Seabrook and Damon Severson and whatever the (frank) Ron Hextall did.

did comrie, stillman, bryson or greenway have decent advanced stats before the extension/trade/signing
I heard they were suppose to be important 18 months ago |

I'm looking at greenway as a single roster upgrade to vic olofsson. (When they trade VO)
If greenway scores 15- 18 goals as a 3rd line non pp or empty net guy, that's a draw.
I'd give up the 10 goals for the size/grit greenway brings.
His contract is for 3 million not 4.75 , also a huge advantage for a budget team.
This team isnt lacking scoring (what olo brings) its lacking some semblance of grit and hard working big body.
Also, I think greenway was injured and had some other off ice distractions.
He's gonna come in and compete after a healthy offseason. He's a bruiser with some talent.

I’m indifferent on Barkov. Good player, haven’t watched much but there’s no doubt he’s struggled this playoffs.
I just find it funny you were so quiet on Reinhart when he was dominating from game 3 against Boston on (but were so load about it for those first 3 games). I know you didn’t “bring him up” but you certainly wanted to say something. Keep that same energy when he does something great again, because he will
And I’ll give you credit you did that when he played center here his last year. But all players go through periods without scoring. Even the great ones. Just weird you stay in this lane this long, but I fall right back in. Carry on, I now remember why I dipped from here for a month. |

I guess the fact that he plays 1c for our divison opponent?
That's like saying "how do you not like mac jones".
I tend to hate players that stand in our way of winning.

I disagree on Stillman, he had good stats 5 years ago. I wouldn’t call that a yes.
He had been beyond brutal for both Chicago and Vancouver for an extended period of time playing little to no minutes. |

he needs to use that grit and size, which is one of his criticisms.
greenway, while in Buffalo, analytically outperformed his time in Minnesota this year on a per minute basis.

. - Boss34
olofsson put up 28 goals last year and 49 points the year before
,635 ppg in the nhl for 263 games
greenway's best is 12 goals in a year and 32 points in a year
.368 ppg in 334 games
I'd rather roll 4 lines with oloffson vs bringing in someone who scores less than girgens and makes more money |

yes he was. but ignoring his time from Florida, and his 20-21 season in whole is negligent in analysis. Sam Ventura's team was pretty adamant about what they saw in Florida, and they were proved to be correct. |
