@DBWilson2
Barkov was quietly a tank tonight. Corsi of 18-3 when he was on the ice for 5-on-5. Scoring chances were 7-3.
Of course you’d like to see more points being scored (shoot it, Barky!)...
But, Take a look at Barkov’s defensive side through playoffs, he’s been helping the dee not be so leaky all playoff season.
He made the play at the line to keep the game tying scoring play going.
People who are looking solely at point totals, and missing all of the rest, are the ones saying Barkov is disappointing. - Ratsreign
I love Barkov the player. He's excellent. Barkov during these playoffs has been underwhelming on offense, part of the reason he's paid like he is.

Well who is Columbus moving, they have some D. Does Adams have the balls to see what Corson Cuelamens might cost. |

Jake Bean or Nick Blankenburg probably. More guys in the junk pile.

His game these playoffs is exactly what Maurice wants, focus on keeping pucks out of their net first. (especially vs Mathews & the Leafers)
They’ve been struggling with dee coverage vs Vegas, part of that is Luostarinen being out, he’s the next best defensive center after Barkov. The forwards buying in on helping out on dee is a big reason why they’ve made it this far.
I do hope Barkov will start shooting more, my only complaint with him is he will too often pass when he has a great shot opportunity
I do believe that they will need him to chip in more on offense in order to pull this off, though. |

2 more years to sign him? - homiedclown
yep. i don't remember if he re-signed there before or after the draft. but I'm certain teams knew what his plan was prior to the draft.
I wonder if he was ever viewed as a 1st round talent. I recall seeing he was.

I think they want "two firsts" in value. I don't think the Sabres want to give up that value with Levi in tow. But the price is fair.

Bills are gonna have to make some adjustments. Looks like there about 5mill over the Cap at this point. - Buff36
Probably will extend White (that's my the closely examined his knee a couple of weeks ago). This will push money down a few years and free up the cap this year |

What's a guy like ivan barbashev gonna cost as a ufa?
Plenty of playoff experience and grit.
Cant see the Sabres adding a forward, but he would be the guy I would target.
27 years old... 70+ playoff games... Stanley cup champion. |

Oh hell yeah... Now we are talking. He has 2 years left at 5 million and has trade value at the end of 24/25 Deadline.
Do it...

I'm a bit concerned with tre white and his knee.
Big baller Beane mentioned , white was dealing with some " 1st time major injury problems " in regards to the knee.
He also flaked out a bit with covid initially.
I'm becoming concerned and he should have a huge bounce back season. If not, I think Elam could fill his role eventually.... |

He would be a good get, 39 brought him up a few days ago. |

If Power signs a bridge deal, and the cap rises even modestly, there's no telling what the AAV will be on his next deal after the bridge.
A 6 year term was mentioned by the Evolving Hockey crew on Twitter last night as a possibility. - kingcong39
Problem with 6 years is that it only locks him up for 1 year of UFA. I'd rather bridge than do that.

Nobody is giving up 2 first for a Goalie. I cant ever remember ANY goalie being traded for 2 firsts.
