acquiring someone above him and pushing him down the lineup is improving, no? - Michael Ghofrani
sounds like he's not extending him and replacing internally, that's the odd part to me

What’s the expectation of Johnson.
Sabres Twitter saying low end top 4. High end bottom 6. |

Jacob Bryson’s transition ability without being completely awful at every other aspect of the sport.

one of the few sabres prospects i've never seen play. Which is hilarious when factoring in the time i spent watching Marjala and Sjodin. |

Interesting statement.
"Someone said to me the Sabres seem to be confident they can get this done. There's work to be done and it sounds like they will be content with whichever way this goes, they'd be very happy to get the player if not they'll be more than happy to get the pick, but there seems to be some confidence with the Sabres that they can get this done, we'll see". |

On one hand, you get a nearly fully developed 22 year old prospect with top 4 upside.
On the other hand you get a 2024 second rounder that could have been used as a trade chip.
I’d rather have Johnson personally but the second round pick is still a useful asset. |

I'd rather have a reasonably talented, difficult to play against ass kicker on the 3rd pair opposite Johnson.
Power needs someone that can keep up with him from a skating perspective, and cover for him when he roams. Dahlin needs the same.
Debatable if Samuelsson is that fit for either of them. - kingcong39
I’m not saying...I’m just sayin’, Montour’s partner for 82 games -

The frustration if he walked should be obvious. Don't see the point in pretending to be fine either way.
A 1st turning into someone who might be NHL ready 7 years later is not fine!

He does a pretty good job torpedoing his own team.
Wasn’t he not on the ice for all three hurricane goals at 5v5 the other night ?

It would have hurt. It strengthens a weak spot in the Organization and bonus is he can do it on both sides. And it gives the Sabres a bona-fide D Trade chip if they so choose down the road. |

Ugh, they need to run away from him asap. Last thing I want is an overpaid 3RD. - Lunaion
TY, spot on.
Trade that MF'er as bait for a true 2nd pairing guy.
He could be sold as a lesser, cheaper ba kill option to a cap strapped team.
Serviceable, doable, less than ideal.

His numbers for his final 15, 10 or 5 game sample were bad but he was also getting unfavourable usage.
His best results came from January to February, when he was getting more offensive zone usage than defensive. I think he's miscast. Give him normal usage and he's probably fine, but he's not nearly good enough defensively to justify using him the way they did down the stretch. - Michael Ghofrani
Should 't Dahlin and Power pairs be your 1 and 2 go to offensive players?
Why retain Joker At $2.5m when he has trade value and the team has Lybushkin as 3rd pair, we
He played quite well when he got over his foot injury? |
