When he's a 20-20 3rd line staple?
Do you see a spot for him in the next 2-3 years on either of the Sabres top 2 lines? - kingcong39
That timeframe might just be the magic mark.
Two years, on June 15, 2025; Jeff Skinner is 33 and his Buyout is thinkable. It is better 3 years from on 06/15/2026. Having a young player on an ELC available to replace him would be awesome.
That could be Kulich, or one of the other younger guys like Rosen...perhaps even this year's Draft selection. |

Why did Calgary end up trading Tkachuk? - kingcong39
He told them he was going to test free agency before considering an extension |

Use Mitts, Krebs, Ostlund, Rosen, Kulich as trade chips in the upcoming years. And what becomes of all of our Russians? And 13th OA this year? The best stay, the guys who fall behind go.
Pretty impressive system. Makes you really want to draft, say, Shimashev, Willander, Reinbacher or Sandin Pellikka. - TheSabresTaco
Not a fan.
Willander yes.
Reinbacher likely gone.
Is Shimashev a reach there? Could they trade back a bit and get him say at 20+ |

based on everything i read, none of those 4 appear to be a reach at 13.
take away Russian Factor™ and I think he's right in the convo. A lot of untapped offensive potential, apparently. |

Depends on what, who you are reading. Rankings and Mocks are widely all over the place.
Fun time though with the final rankings from several expected to drop in the next week-ish. |

Sabres pay more than he's worth unless he pulls a Tkachuk.

After years of ignoring the country’s prospects, GMKA has done a nice job of laying a foundation for Russian players in the system. |

Are you waiting the 2 to 3 years it will likely take to figure that out, or are you striking while the iron is hot if needed to make a big move and include one of these forward prospects?
I think I already know your answer.
We haven't even included Rosen or if they take a forward at 13 overall into the forward blender above. - kingcong39
You know I'm all for making a move, but I'd also say you're not waiting 2-3 years to figure it out. You're adjusting as you go. Could Kulich end up being the best of the bunch? Absolutely.

Had himself a solid season, another player a decision will need to be made on. |

If it’s possible to have a downside to healthy forwards all year long, it’s that we didn’t get to see a few of these types of guys in blue and gold for a couple of games. |

If this doesn’t draw out Gerbs, I don’t know what will. He loves Keller. - PrinceChill
Keller would be an excellent addition.
His salary is even in line with how the ORG thinks. |

William Carrier really developed into quite the hockey player.
Both Carrier and Borgen would be perfect on this team as constructed |

They'd be negligent if they didn't.
I personally don't think the player and his demands are a fit, but what do I know.
