So I love Darnold, but he is near the end. Not sure it was worth 1 year. Hope Oliver can prove why he was 9th overall, as I feel he has not met that draft position with his play, yet.

I can’t figure out what you mean about Darnold. Agree about Oliver. Lots of DTs went in that first round. Simmons probably the best. Quinnen Williams really broke out last year.

I don't think it will open anything this year, that was his 5th year option the Bills picked up, so that 10.5mill is Guaranteed. Only way to change that is by trading it I believe.
Edit: I was mistaken with this Contract Extension, they are allowed to spread his 5th year option out through the life of the new contract. Guess they changed the rule a few years back on 5th yr options. Depending on how the contract is worded Buffalo could possibly open up 10mill in space this year. Doesn't mean it will happen, but Beaner just might have opened enough room for another signing.
