It's not a great signing, unless Fattony and Lunaion say it is, because Beane isn't a good GM. - RichardRoma
One of my buddies was on that stupid twitter Billsmafia bandwagon to get rid of McDermott, then fire Frazier, then beane can’t draft, beane sucks with contracts etc.
Beane and his cap specialist do a great job. Drafting for any Gm isn’t perfect.
The only position draft wise beane can’t figure out is pass rusher. It’s weird. Analytics team maybe can’t figure it out? I don’t know |

high end pass rushers typically need to be found in the front third of the first round. Hitting on one later on has proven very difficult for many teams. That's why waiting out the market for a quality vet is a great move until you can actually develop one as a perennial playoff team.

4th? - TheSabresTaco
Didn't he say Ostlund had another year overseas and 2 in Rochester? |
|
|
|
Do you think Johnson spends time in Rochester next year or is assumed a spot in Buffalo? - washedup20
Really think it depends on what they do in offseason. If they make a top4 splash then yes in rochester.
Too many bodies right fighting for the bottom 3 spots and could be more if they pick someone up and not trade jokihauru. |

way too early to make that assumption. he's a developing elite offensive player. unfortunately his size makes him a longer term project. adams knew it. he'll be an effective top 6 guy. just might take a little longer.
imo. - TheSabresTaco
Possible replacement for skinner at some point….?

That would be something for a 16th overall pick to not get a sniff of an NHL roster until the 5th season after he's been drafted. - kingcong39
Id rather have that then another mittlefat 5 year development in the NHL. |

I’ve already said his improvement over the back half of this season has been great, it has brought him back from total bust territory to 14OA status (or at least close).
I still see no future for him in Buffalo except as a filler for a injured top 6 player, you can’t have 2 players that add up to 200lbs total playing bottom 6 roles in Krebs and Rosen. - washedup20
Krebs is listed at 5’11” 180 to 6 even 187. Is he huge? No. He’s not small either. And he’s a grinder with an active stick that if he didn’t play with stone hands and a human Zamboni would probably have doubled is assist totals |

That’s an option with the development routes for Rosen and Ostlund.
We all know Adams will extend Skinner though because he does goofy between 2 ferns knockoff videos…those are worth a 5 year extension alone…vibes.

That was me. Why would they rush these kids if they dont need to? Who cares when they were drafted. If they earn a spot good. We have seen top5gm give kids a spot if they deserve it.
I dont see 150lb ostlund or Rosanne making the team in the next year or two. |

I would highly doubt that Ostlund would need a 2nd year in Rochester after two full years in a men's pro league after being drafted, and a year in Rochester after that.
Do you think he doesn't have the Sabres workout regimen available to him? |

That's great that a better play would help his point totals.
All the way up to the trade to Buffalo he was developed to play top 6/9 (hehehe) role.
If he continues his development, then you have a choice to make at 3C:
Mitts/Krebs/Cozens/Savoie/Ostlund
2 of those players should be moved to improve the D and add muscle to support the core.

It’s weird that people hate on Krebs. The Sabres had such good depth that we had to bench a 30 goal scorer (olofsson) and had to play Krebs on the 4th line to keep him in the nhl
Krebs is a playmaker …. It’s hard to build up points with Okposo and girgensons on your wings.
He also has been working with a skills coach. The YouTube algorithm suggested me a Krebs video of his off ice training with a skills coach. Good stuff.
He will be okay. I promise lol - Sabretooth9
All of this just shows that management has an unbalanced roster.

You not liking him is fine by me. You blatantly lying about his size through exaggeration is gonna get called out by me. RichardRoma is a terrible poster that brings less than nothing to this board. When you do this schtick, you border on his territory. |

It was. And the message is both are small. Krebs isn’t small. He’s right around NHL average. |

Ostlund is another year in europe and then 2 years in rochester.
Savoie is another year in junions and 1 in rochester.
Kulich will prob be first call up next year. So full time spot in another year.
Gotta make a decision on Rosen soon i think…. - ZiggyBuff
If top half 1st rounders are taking 3-4 years to get to Buffalo, that's a problem. Think you're being too conservative here.

Sorry to nitpick, but Savoie looks like he's a winger. While he can be a trade chip, I'm not sure he ever lines up down the spine for us. |

Mittelstadt is the trade chip imo. Coming off a good year, cheap for this coming season and still an RFA after. He should have good value around the league. Krebs is trending toward being the Sam Bennett of the group (kinda sorta) and he's perfectly suited for a depth scoring center role. |

Biggest complaint a few years back was we had no high end talent. Adams changed that with pretty much every forward he picked.
Problem is they dont have the size yet. With our current forward group whats the point of bringing up a 19 or 20yo that weighs 160lbs.
Unless everyone else here wanted us to draft Girgs 2.0 then yes hes first year one.
Im looking at final product and not where they were drafted. |

He blocks shots, hits, and has 2 fights on his resume while being the best player on his line. All while being NHL average in size. But carry on carrying on. |
