nice hand on Robertson on that PP goal for Dallas to tie it up - dmnted
I would trade 2OA for him straight up today… he’s really really good.
And I love Fantilli … but it would be worth it -
JR / McTavish / Terry …. 1st line .. yeah that works - |

No way he's making 10M on his next contract. It's hilarious that you hate him so much, but put him into top tier salary. - gravyface
No.
He’ll think he deserves “top tier salary.”
I think he’s a $6 million player because he’s got zero bite and defensive awareness.

If I am incorrect, which I said I could be, then the wording in the CBA is poorly worded calling it multiple years, including all bonuses, salaries and etc. It's all pluralized. - Aaron_85
https://theathletic.com/3...22/08/09/nhl-arbitration/
Here's a full piece on how arb works. Pretty well written and it's a Q n A with Tulsky explaining how arb works.
Also - I didn't want to bore with the details but there's 2 types of arb.
1. Team elected - no QO .....arb is awarded and must be no less than 85% of previous years salary (inclusive of bonuses); or
2. Player elected - no 85% rule on this one b/c team must have issued Q.O.
Lots of nuances but for Sammy Leafs will qualify him at 1.8M and then he'll either file for arb. They'll settle for a 1 or 2 yr deal or go to arb and he'll get atleast 1.8M (but really he'll get what the Leafs offered or what he requested or something in between). Leafs will offer more than the 1.8M b/c the precedents out there are greater than that. |

Sounds like we're all on the same page ...sort of ...lets offer 88 8.5M per. If he takes it ..great. If he comes back and says it's 8x10M then we take him to market. |

its either 1 or 2 years deal if the arbitrator makes a decision on the contract.
now the team and player can still come to terms on a contract on their own prior to the arbitrator's ruling. |

the awards, like Georgiev's, are based on their performance and resume. Nobody believed he would be awarded 700k. They have precedents that they negotiate off of. For Sammy, as I said, the speculation is that he's about 3M x 2 or maybe a little less if it's a 1 yr offer.
Sammy + Woll is better than Sammy + Murray was where this all started. - The Law
I don’t think Georgiev ever got to arbitration. The $3.5 or whatever he got was negotiated with the Avs. The big majority of players that file for arbitration end up with a negotiated deal. When teams are tight to the cap and the player has binding arbitration rights, teams might be more willing to settle to avoid getting stuck with an award they can’t really afford. |

That might just be Leaf players. I’d be a good GM because I don’t give a poop if my family has to put up with a lot of stress. (frank) ‘em. |

If you are saying Toronto is the hockey Mecca, doesn’t Montreal own those rights. Weren’t they a team before the St Pats? The Maroons maybe Or Ottawa with the silver 7 |

remember when last 2-3 years I suggested to trade Nylander for Roope Hintz and all you 'experts' were mocking that suggestion?
UPDATE: Nylander continues to float and disappear during the important games - Hintz in the meantime is leading the league in playoff points and has been a huge contributor the the Stars' current playoff run.
