I’m apparently easily swayed in terms of coaches, probability because I really know nothing about coaching or individual coaches. People on the bird app are making it feel like he’s a GG type in the sense that he’s good for a quick turnaround but has a short shelf life. That he is not good at development of young players. Etc |

Did he develop anyone in Philly in all his time there? |

Not bad there.
Whatever it is, it is. Come December, we find out if it works or not. |

I just can’t see the Rangers making a decision until they see what happens with Keefe in Toronto and Sullivan in Pittsburgh if dubas is hired |

NY is a tough place for new coaches, especially one without NHL coaching experience. However I would not mind an assistant and even knob. I think the recycling of nhl coaches is an issue through the nhl. Maybe Lav would be a good fit. I don’t know that’s up to Chris, but the rangers need a strong coach not afraid to take on the vets in a respectable way and also develop our young core while installing everyone play the same system. This east west has to end. |

Mike Sullivan is literally the safest coach in the NHL. He negotiated a new contract with ownership directly and went over the head of Hextall. He aint going anywhere. |

HAHA. I called it a couple weeks ago. I knew they'd do this. He's the most conservative gamble...someone they think is a safest bet I suppose. Time will tell if he works out with this squad but I'm with most of you in thinking they should've given someone else who's less of a 'retread' a shot. |

It’s not a certainty yet. Seems like an educated guess from EF |

Not surprising. It’s a pretty safe choice. You know the guy can run a team and a bench. |

I'm team Roy all the way especially with Valley hinting it's him. Truthfully I don't think valley would be wrong here |

I think its is the tale of what we were expecting him to play like vs. what he could actually play like.
We had him pegged as a bottom 6 player, thats the guy we were expecting, and thats how he was utilized. GG totally flopped here. However, it turns out hes more like a silky middle six player that can get 200 hits.
I think this is just another ripple of GG's coaching. |

Personally think Lavy would be a good choice for NYR. Though like most coaches his voice can wear out on a room, the youth in that team mixed with the fact they have not had a coach quite his style, The players are pretty well suited for his fast and attack approach, Philly was just too slow of a team overall for it to work. Can't speak for the Washington or Nashville years, didnt watch him close but personally he was probably second favorite in Philly since the 00's (and we've had a lot) |

What was it, 10-12 years ago, Laviolette was coaching the Flyers and Tortorella was coaching the Rangers, and they were taking turns as the winningest US-born coach. Now the shoes could wind up being completely on the other foot. Flyers obviously don't have the same talent level that the Rangers do, but just to have the coaches reversed would be a bit weird.
Another note - a long time ago, I saw live Laviolette playing for the old Binghamton Rangers. |

Depends, if hes on the keto thing then it makes sense. I did it for a couple months (which means absolutely no alcohol at all as well) and honestly I lost a ton of weight and felt amazing. However it wasnt sustainable for me long term. I like beer and bread. =\ |

One of the anesthesiologists I used to worth with would whole heartedly disagree. Shes on a carnivore diet. Her blood work comes back immaculate. Shes also a world record holder in power lifting for her age and weight. |

Sounds like anecdotal evidence that does not fall in line with the consensus and that’s scary that a doctor wouldn’t understand that. People have smoked their whole lives and lived 90+ years so of course smoking = good. But I’m just a layman with google |
