Boeser has 2 seasons left. I wouldn’t sign him unless he broke out again and then his # would come up significantly. 2 years with 50% retained is a good gamble in my opinion if, and only if, you’re getting their #11 pick too. Does that involve giving up our 1st rounder? Probably - picklerick
VAN is not trading Boeser retained and their 1st round pick for LAF and our 1st. This is one pipedream you can put to rest. |

I mean I’d agree on the basis that trades like that don’t happen very often but I don’t see why VAN wouldn’t do that if they are as high on Laf as the bird app says they are |

Because 1st round picks in this years draft are virtually untouchable. You probably couldnt get that 11th pick from VAN for LAF straight up. |

I’ve seen a lot of chatter about VAN maybe trying to move that pick for multiple assets. We all know everything you read on twitter is true so suck it. They’re also already over the cap |

If theyre that interested in LAF and that desperate for cap space, why start at the middle? Why not start at the top with Pettersson? |

Because petterson is a top center in the league at 24 years old? |

But the twitterverse clearly says the Nucks are extremely interested in LAF. |

You’ve now lost me. Why would not offering petterson mean no laf for them |

We could afford Boeser with 50% retained. Not that it’s likely to happen |

for an untouchable draft, I think this draft already has the most traded first round picks ever

You people are focused on the wrong Canuck in potential trade involving Laf.
Laf for Garland. 1 for 1. Drury type of off-season move. |

Yeah, but only because we'd have to send 3 guys the other way. |

Probably just dump goodrow on someone and then that’s really it. Half of boesers contract is basically goodrow’s contract. Again. This is unlikely |

This will not come as a huge surprise to many, but hearing Washington is closing in on Spencer Carbery as its next head coach.

Was interested because he’s not a retread but I know literally nothing about him other than teams seem to want him |

Fair. All I know is that he ran Toronto's Special teams |

I've learned to not put much stock in a lot of teams wanting him. There's been so many trendy, new first-time coaches that were highly sought-after that turned out to be nothing. Dallas Eakins is the first one that comes to mind.
Doesn't mean Carbery won't be a great coach, but I used to assume that if so many teams wanted someone...they'd be pretty great. |

He's big on analytics too. Was my top choice if going with a new HC but I think it's become pretty clear that this organization wants a veteran coach. Perhaps they think a new coach would have trouble getting through to our high-end vets.
Lavs isn't super exciting but he's been my top choice of the retreads from day 1. Will it work? Who knows but he has a track record of getting a lot out of his teams in the early seasons and I think that's what Dolan/Drury want. If they brought in a coach that they need to give a few years Drury could be out of a job by the time the new guy gets his feet under him.
I don't necessarily agree with that approach but it's the way the business goes. Guys looking out for their own jobs. Same reason we get frustrated when coaches don't have a long-term view of developing players |

Oh. So that means no Burnette hive hear. Oh well. Just avoid the disgusting brothers and I can be indifferent/pessimistic about the Rangers hire.
