No sense talking common sense with the excuse crew. You could hand them a bag of actual poop and they’d talk about where the poop came from and how great the smell of the poop is versus 30+ other piles of poop.

The one thing I keep hearing is how respected he is around the league by other execs and GMs. This makes me feel warm and fuzzy.
I was mildly and angsty against signing him at first, but he's here now and so I'm going to switch to excited mode as it's something new and fresh. Will be fun to see what direction Tree Living decides to pivot to.
And let's be honest, "Tree Living" and "Maple Leafs" has some serious poetic synergy. - mjones242
Agreed.
I really can't fathom how anyone can be bothered by this anymore.
I can understand the belief Dubas is the better GM and there could be other good options out there...but I am sorry fans have the tools to evaluate players decently but GMs nope.
How many players from 2019 roster + others drafted by Tallon that had not made it yet are on the current roster.
Maybe 5? - jribout
He was GM / Executive in some capacity from 2010-2020 in Florida.
Hyman, Donskoi, Petrovic, Bjugstad, Gudbranson, Huberdeau, Grimaldi, Trocheck, Matheson, Barkov, Weegar and Ekblad would be some of his best draft picks over that time period.
They still have Barkov and Ekblad and used Huberdeau and Weegar to acquire Tkachuk. He also signed Bob which a lot of people thought was stupid but right now, seems like it's worth it considering they're 4 wins away from a Cup. A lot of their most important pieces are directly because of Tallon.
Same goes for Chicago. Keith, Kane, Bolland, Bickell, Brouwer, Seabrook, Byfuglien, Hjalmarsson, Toews, Crawford; long, long list of high quality draft choices that yielded 3 Cups when he was either AGM or GM.
Even if it's not directly him who found these guys, he's shown he can create a team around him that can find high quality, Cup winning level players at every level in the draft. Even if he was the President and hired his own GM, this franchise would be in better hands than Shanahan and whatever puppet he has.

Sam Bennett, Oliver Kylington, Andrew Mangiapane, Matt Tkachuk, Adam Fox, Dillon Dube in Trevilling's first 3 years
I am not backreading 12 pages so if you discussed it then whatever.
Heard on the radio, apparently in the Treliving interview and other interviews Shanny made a point to say something like "I like what Keefe has done as a coach but you can fire him if you want".
If the rumours of Shanny telling/indicating the core 4 are "safe" and that he likes the coach, what actual major roster changes are we in for?
Which, this has nothing to do with Treliving, everything to do with Shanahan.
