the problem is not waiting a few years, otherwise mtl should pick him up

the problem is if he nevers make the jump

with the current climate, the war, the fact that he is seen as a top prospect and the story with his dad, he may stay in the KHL for all his career. Mtl is years away as well, waiting should not be the issue. That's not the issue I think most teams have anyway. Its wasting a top pick for a prospect who may never come.

I used to think the current war could become an issue, but since his agent spoke out publicly about Michkov's intentions of playing in the NHL and that he'll be at the draft I really doubt it's a problem anymore.

they eventually came back to the ice. i don't know how true it is but i used to have a vhs tape where they told the story and i think it said that ed snider told the russians they wouldn't get paid if they didn't come back and finish the game so they did.

https://www.ecenglish.com...rried%20a%20circus%20band.

If you ‘jump on the bandwagon’, you join a growing movement in support of someone or something when that movement is seen to be about to become successful.

The history of this expression can be explained in two parts, starting with the word ‘bandwagon’ itself... Phineas T. Barnum – often known as P.T. Barnum – was a world-famous showman and circus owner. It was he who coined the word ‘bandwagon’, simply as the name for the wagon that carried a circus band. The first usage of this word can be found in his autobiography ‘The Life of P.T. Barnum, Written by Himself’, which he wrote in 1855.

Circuses were very skilled at attracting the public by having an exciting parade through the town, complete with a highly decorated bandwagon. Politicians – not being the type to miss out on an opportunity – began using bandwagons for electoral campaign. It is unclear exactly when the expression switched from the literal meaning of ‘showing alliance to a politician’ to the figurative meaning we use today, but in his ‘Letters’, written in 1899, Theodore Roosevelt made a clear reference to the practice:

“When I once became sure of one majority they tumbled over each other to get aboard the bandwagon”.

this league seriously lacks talent, not just on the ice (where are the goalies?) but also behind the desk. when guys like Treliving and Dubas who both have very average track records find work within weeks (days!)..... you know there's a problem somewhere.

I think players have gotten even faster and more talented over the years, which would explain in part why we don't see many goalies be as dominant as they used to... that, combined with the rules being generally more in favor of allowing goals than disallowing them imho.

as for the management part, I agree there's still a lot of recycling going on, but I think it's because teams are giving a lot of importance to experience, and are afraid of giving an important position to someone who has none as a general manager.
