I really loved Zucks game last season...but he's been so glassy...and is now 31. I dont know that he elevated his play because of a contract year, like some would say. In between all the injuries the season before he looked fantastic in limited time.
I'm lukewarm on him coming back, would lean towards no if he wants much of a raise. - MattStrat
The fan in me says yes. The realist says hell no. The injury issues, age, and likely cost could end up hurting us. |

Interesting - good fit for him as PHOP, I wonder if Darche would still want the GM role? Perhaps we circle back to Tlusky? Seems potential for a solid management team though!
I'd love to see him bring Nylander in!!! - mventres

Going to be funny when your window closes when Matthews and Nylander leave next year.

Darche was in the running until Dubas accepted. Was in the running for the same job according to LeBrun. Doubt he would be a GM candidate now. |

Haha yeah I wasn't sure if everyone was just reading twitter quotes or actually watched it. I thought he articulated a philosophy and vision that most of us can get behind |

Not shocked. Him and Dubas are tight. If it’s already in the works that’s good because that means he won’t be GM since Dubas the ants a long process that’ll stretch in July. |

I liked Zucker, even when it wasn't popular, but I'd still go to free agency and try to get younger. I do worry a little though that he is such a good play driver and how losing that will impact Malkin.
I'd add DOC to Poehling, but after that they can blow up that bottom six. Can take or leave Archibald he was at least decent. - Tojo.
Agree with all of this.

I wouldn't try to move Rusty. He's a better player than he showed last season. I don't believe the aging curve caught him one year. Not going to lie, he didn't look like he was "all in" last year. If I were Sully, I'd tell him more is expected from him. |

Friedman said that earlier. Apparently there is a contract issue though. He might not be able to take a direct job with the organization. |

It's still a promotion if he's interested.
I could see some candidates worried about Dubas being too involved. Or even Sullivan. And I've said I don't think it's the most attractive job from a competitive standpoint. But 1 in 32 and FSG will pay top dollar so we'll see what happens. |

Wasn’t a negative impact on whoever’s line he was on?
Idk, he has value. If there’s a deal I’d make it. |

It's probably more relative to Rackell. Rust was ... fine ... in a down year. He'll probably lose some stats if he can't get the top PP spot back. But he was still an ok top 6, just not near his past 3 years. |

Interesting that LeBrun said Darche was in line for hockey ops and was informed this morning that Kyle got the job. Reading between the lines and the fact that Greeley was also informed he was out this morning, it makes me believe even more that this search either always was or at some point turned into a PHO search. Would explain how FSG loved Tulsky so much after his interview but quickly exed him off if they liked him as GM but not PHO. I truly would not be shocked if Tulsky ends up being the guy. |

Brought that up earlier. They wanted to pick a long term guy who will run the organization. Might see a few GM's and Coaches under Dubas' term here. |

Oh yeah I watched it already. The dude can talk. I like what he said throughout the whole presser. He was really candid. And I thought the media actually asked him some harder questions instead of throwing softballs. He did really well with his answers. Exactly what I wanted to hear. |

His answer about trying to stay competitive through the core’s remaining career while also building out a hockey operations juggernaut that can handle a rebuild in a short amount of time was very clear and to the point. Communicated confidence and an actual plan unlike the hextal answer to the same question along the lines of “oh we’ll just ice a contender without giving up draft picks and it’ll all be fine” |
