Oh yeah I watched it already. The dude can talk. I like what he said throughout the whole presser. He was really candid. And I thought the media actually asked him some harder questions instead of throwing softballs. He did really well with his answers. Exactly what I wanted to hear. - j.boyd919
Asking about Jarry and the bad contracts in his first presser was not something I expected and he handled it with class. |

Madden just said Spezza is coming here. - madmike71
I could see him serve as GM for a year or two under Dubas and then possibly go take the job in Ottawa.

Cap Hit - Points - Players
20.90 mill - 217 - Crosby+Malkin+Letang
30.14 mill - 206 - Matthews+Tavares+Rielly

Ha… def raises eyebrows.
I’m curious what Kyles first job he tackles and how soon it gets it done. Probably goaltending? Or buying out Granlund… |

Switch Tavares with Marner (I know, 1C-2C-1D) and see what the numbers are...but still way higher cap hit.
If I have any complaint about Dubas and the cap, it would be his negotiations with the top players. His depth signings are usually pretty good, which is really what the Penguins needs to focus on. |

I think the focus of this exercise was comparing the top 2 centers and top D man of each team. However, Nylander only had 7 more points than Tavares....for around 4 mill less hahah. Marner had 19 more points than Tavares for basically the same price.
I think if you did a comparison and added one of those wingers for the Leafs and Jake for the Pens, the Pens are still clearly at an advantage.

Oh, absolutely. And that's what I acknowledged with the 1C-2C-1D thing. Crosby having his best season, points-wise, since 2019 tipped the scales. But still, the cap hit per point is heavily in the Pens' favor.
Again, I think Dubas' biggest strength is the supporting cast, which is where the Pens need to most help. |

Yeah for sure and I really like how he addressed it in the presser yesterday, the things he said about it.

How does that stat compare to the pre team friendly deals letang and Malkin took?
Also, watched the presser only negative I took away was the free pass sully got. “He can coach forever” |

When he talked about the supporting cast "delivering the game" back to the top 6 guys, he mentioned getting players who don't get hemmed in their own zone, etc. which is exactly what I wanted to her.

I think that was more of a coaches don't get old, breakdown and have to retire and more of a nod to the future of the Penguins without Sid/Geno/Letang not necessarily he can coach here forever.

Yeah you're probably right...he also said he wouldnt work for anyone but the Leafs just 10 days ago haha. So if even if he meant it more literally, things can change fast in this business. If the Pens are really struggling and he gets the vibe the players are tuning Sully out he can axe him. He has no connection to Sullivan. Coaches get fired quite often with numerous years left on contract. |

We’ve seen similar stunts from the managers box in Toronto. |
