In a pool like this, you gotta mix things up, try to pick teams you do not think others will take but have a real shot at winning a series, and maybe an unconventional champs. Otherwise you have all the same teams as everyone else.

That being said, picking Vegas is just asking to lose it all.

that is pretty much what I was going for when I picked the Oilers lol. there are a few of us that had them in our group as the cup winners but not many, so it wasn't too bad in that regard, although there were a bit more people than I was expecting to select them.

anyway there probably aren't many poolers and 'bracketeers" that had predicted a FLA-VGK final, and while it may not be a "sexy" matchup with these two non-traditional markets, at least it's entertaining hockey. besides, if it was too easy to identify who's gonna win it would get boring pretty fast, having multiple teams that could potentially win makes things far more interesting.

that being said, FLA in 7

Yeah, I tend to pick who I think could win, but not who most people would pick to win, for brackets. I also had the Oilers, simply because I did not think anyone else would.

I did not think Vegas goaltending would hold up.

That, to me, is the surprise of the playoffs so far.

I think this is what the vast majority of people assumed heading into the playoffs, myself included, and it turns out it hasn't been an issue at all for Vegas... if anything it's been one of their strengths.

one thing I hadn't noticed is that because the right side of the jersey is designated for ad logos, they decided to slap the stanley cup finals patch on the left side, even for players who wear a letter... it looks kinda dumb lol

Vegas better win game 1. they'll be in deep trouble if they do not imo. could be a short series.

making a save like that feels great too. if you knock a shot out of the air with your stick it's like heroin.

I agree 100%, that kind of epic poop doesn't happen very often, but when it does you feel like you're on top of the world.
