The Devils will begin contract talks with Timo and his agent this week, per Mike Morreale.

Some updates from LeBrun, Friedman, and other insiders:
-There's an 8 year deal on the table for Bratt, it's up to him/his agent whether they take it or not. If not, they'll have to negotiate for a shorter term deal with less money. Fitz 'would prefer' to get this deal done before Timo.
-Starting conversations with Timo, and the hope is to get something done by the draft. But it's not out of the question that this heads to arbitration. Friedman says this will be a tough negotiation and other teams/agents still feel this ends up in cut-rate arbitration for a 1 year deal.
-The Devils have been receiving interest from multiple teams for the rights of Severson. If something happens there it obviously would only be a mid-ish round pick(4th-5th?) coming back, but it'd be something.
