Initially I read it as two first round picks. Either way, a 1st and two 2nds is a pretty good haul.

Flyers say the got 22 overall this year, LA's 2nd 2024, and then CBJ's 2nd in either 24/24, plus Petersen, Walker, Grans.
CBJ got Prov at 70% contract
LA got 30% of Prov contract, Connauton, and some other dude. |

Notre Dame great Cal Petersen! |

Good trade for the Flyers - 1st, 2 2nds, a good prospect and two dumps. Good business if they trade Hart now, but this should've been done last season. Hart playing well to start the season is why the Flyers are picking 7th and not in the top 3. |

Nic Lidstrom won 3 back Norris trophies in a row after Babcock took over in Detroit. Not that he wasn't already a great player, but he was coming off of his worst career year at 35 years old when that streak started... Babcock will be great for that D group.
Anyone who doesn't want to work hard and backcheck will have a hard time.

He also won 3 before him, and came in 2nd for Norris voting 3 years before winning the first 3 straight. Babcock ain't the reason Lidstrom won Norris's.

I don’t think Jarmo fits CBJ very well. I wonder if he’d be much better suited for a big market team. |

I don't see a real plan with his moves. Sign Gudbranson and Gaudreau in the same offseason. Bring in Babcock and Provorov. Why bother signing expensive talent when you clearly don't want them playing a talent forward game. |

I feel like most of Jarmo’s moves in a vacuum are solid but when put together they don’t come out coherent and I think that’s because it’s CBJ and it’s incredibly hard to get people to want to go there or retain them when they are there, so the franchise is constantly in desperation mode. I think if Jarmo wasn’t constantly desperate he could have a decent amount of success. |

I dont understand this comment... he just made a big trade to get a really good player for good value. What about that makes for not exactly a great day? |

Provorov is average at best. He spent a 1st and a 2nd to get him. Even at 30% reduced it's a bad move. |

Curious to see what Debrincat fetches. Seems like a Dubas type move that turns out to be lateral but might be a shakeup they are looking for. |

Honestly I feel like Debrincat is going to be a trap for someone. He is a talented shooter but he looks like a PP specialist rather than a elite winger. Not really a dynamic player at all and scores a great majority of his goals just hanging out in the same spot and waiting for the puck to come to him.
Don't get me wrong, there will always be a place in the top 6 for guys who can put the puck in the net but by the time you give up a 1st & 2nd rounder and hand him 8/$8M, you are going to have some massive regrets.
To me, he is like a less dynamic version of prime Mike Hoffman. I hope we just stay away.

Because Provorov isn’t a really good player. He was once a young player with great potential but never lived up to it. |
