yup, not sure if it's a great strategy either to be talking specifically about MTL, it isn't helping WPG in their negotiations or giving them any leverage... - Pat1993
nope, not cool for them
take the best you can get and move forward |

so what will it take to get him this summer?
I was kidding with Dvorak and Armia the other day, but I wonder if WPG would not be interested. we'd have to add of course, but these 2 still have years on their contracts, WPG have problem retaining players... maybe it could work |

Cheveldayoff doesn't need to be dumb, or brillant. teams won't line up to acquire PLD when they know he wants to be a Habs. and Habs don't have to do anything, they can wait 12 months.
so yes, make an offer, but you won't see prime prospects go the other way. imho |

even then, not sure why they'd entertain the idea, but hey, if it happens, I won't complain. |

I get it's not a great return, but that might be the best return they will get. that's all that matters.
and the idea is that Dvorak has 2 more years, Armia too. for a team which has problems signing UFAs... that might be interesting. |

Dvorak is not that bad. big center, 4.5M. pretty decent imo. you just need to accept that he's not a top6 player.
Armia, that's another story lol |

salary retention while the cap is barely going up (no code) doesn't sound like a great strategy imho. |

meh. do both those player help you win games? no.
do they cost you games? no, not really.
having dead cap space isn't worth it, as much as you hate Yowelle. |
