I think we are going to be very disappointed in the moves that happen this summer. If there were going to be moves for those top 3 55,37 & 80 I for sure thought would've been moved by now. Teams knew they were available and should've been a line up for all of them yet nothing.
I have lost all faith in Chevy and his unwillingness to move players and this season we are going to lose them all for nothing. This year the fan base gets extremely upset with the owners & GM. - wesveness
My feeling is you will probably see PLD dealt before the draft, or at it. He can be extended and traded right now, so can totally see this happening soon. He wasn't qualified by the Jets yesterday, so trade in the works? Besides PLD could be offer-sheeted on July 1 I believe, so that should expedite his trade.
Not surprised that Scheif and Helle haven't been dealt yet. They can't be extended until July 1 - at which time the Jets can re-sign and trade - and the player can possibly bring back a better return at that time, being extended.
But we'll soon see! |

Of course this is not happening but would this be fair value for you?
To Ottawa
F Pierre Luc-Dubois, G Connor Hellebuyck
To Winnipeg
Shane Pinto (32nd pick overall 2019 - 1st pick in 2nd round)
Tyler Boucher (10th pick overall 2021)
2023 1st (17th via DET)
2023 2nd (43rd via DET)
2024 1st
G Anton Forsberg or one of Sens goalie prospects |

Friedman is suggesting this morning that LA is front runner for PLD.
I would go for PLD and Stanley to LA for Vilardi, Arvidsson, Clarke and Pinelli.
Or a PLD and Stanley for Byfield, Clarke and Arvidsson (salary dump).
Would like to see the Jets get both Byfield and Clarke but doubt that will happen - hope for one of them. Rather have Iafallo than Arvidsson but probably a "no go."

Not much interest in Vilardi or Turcotte, both injury prone and I have concerns with Perfetti and Lucius already in that department.
Clarke is the prize piece from LA I believe |

And the Winnipeg Ice are no more, sold and moved to Wenatchee, Washington.
That really sucks! Was hoping ol Dayoff might actually scout someone since there was a WHL team right here. |

I think it says that the team really appreciates his leadership. |

Think this is the week it will happen - PLD's last week with the Jets!
This time next week, PLD should be a member of the Kings, Habs, Rangers, Canes (doubt this will happen, but ???) or Bruins! At least, I guess, I hope this comes to pass! We need to get this partial rebuild rolling. At least no one can ever accuse Chevy of making snap decisions!

I doubt he'd go to Carolina. Certainly doubt he'd sign. BUT if he's interested in a one year deal to jack up his contract value, the Canes would be happy to accommodate him.

Yea, agree on both points, which I think it's not likely he goes to Carolina.
But you never know I guess. Slim possibility - unless PLD extended, and the chances of that are very doubtful. They say the Canes want to win - NOW! So??? |

It’s funny, odd, Bruins set a record this year for wins and I don’t see much on their roster or pipeline I’d want for PLD.
Old and expensive and almost zero prospects |

I was listening to CJOB today and the pundits say by the end of the week possibly for PLD. Helle near or at the draft or shortly after, Wheeler in August and Schief depends on what PLD brings.
So, I guess we wait and see! |

i never said it was a forte, just that it is the reality of every club in the league to lose players to waivers, FA etc. Furthermore Wpg is a tough market to retain talent in due to taxes, glamour, endorsement opportunity and climate. Todays Jets have more talent than what was inherited from Atlanta and that doesn't happen by poor asset management. - 2.0
You make good points.
I know you are in the Dauphin area and its a terrible tragedy that occurred last week. My condolences and such heart breaking news for the community. |

Thanks for thinking of us old flopper. No, there was no one super close to me involved I certainly knew or knew of most of the families. No one asks to become part of the “strong“ communities, but here we are and even those who are not directly involved need to stay positive, and keep moving forward to honor the victims and support their families, and to support the first responders, and all who were forced to be strong in that horrible circumstance |

Yes, 2.0, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your community, and all those involved or affected by that terrible tragedy.
Sometimes sports, Jets, seem so irrelevant compared to what's go on in others lives, especially when so tragic and so when it's so close to home. Lives change in a second!
This is one of those times! Stay as strong as possible!!! |

As awful as it is this tragedy doesn't feel as shocking or painful as the other recent accident in the area when four young people were killed after t-boning a semi at Gilbert Plains. Its odd and I don't know the reasons why - perhaps because of age or because the names of this are not all out there yet, or shock/denial, or worse - we are more hardened and accepting of it.
High school grad and Countryfest and Ukrainian festival are still moving ahead, life will move on. We will support and be strong for those most deeply affected.

Lived in both Carberry and Dauphin at one time, and I feel the hurt and trauma for those involved even though I don't know the names of those killed yet. Dauphim has had more than their share of tragedies over the years.
Having lived in the communities involved, quite familiar with route and intersection where the 15 people were killed and 10 seriously injured. Like any other intersection, sadly your lives can change in a flash. Devastating!!!

This whole story has been devastating. I really feel for those that lost loved ones during this tragedy. I am hopeful that the communities eventually find some semblance of peace in all this. Cannot imagine what everyone there is going through.

Zach Kassian is a player that I would take a flyer on. He's going to be a UFA. I think he would look pretty good on the Jets 4th line. Not saying that he would become a fulltime player but would sure be pretty serviceable in a rotation type of situation. |
