Apparently CBJ is getting Damon Severson from the Devils in a sign and trade deal. CBJ is not kidding around. |

Or how about just playing as well as Tkachuk does when it matters the most! - jd250
Look at the stats. McDavid did play as well when it matters. Tkachuk didn't play well when it mattered last season as he went scoreless in the last 3 playoff games when Calgary got knocked out. Cups are McDavid 0 Tkachuk 0. |

If you or anyone else wants to litigate the Hextall era again. We can do that. - MJL
litigate. He was a below average GM here. Yes lets litigate.

well, that is where I disagree with many of you on this forum. I think Hart is a true franchise goalie and there are very few legitimate franchise goalies in this league. Thus in my mind that makes his the Flyers top asset. TK is right behind though, a legitimate first line winger with 40+ goal potential. - jd250
If there are very few legitimate franchise goalies in the league. Which is certainly true, what makes Hart one of them? What evidence is there that he is? |

Yes, and it has to be a top 10 pick for me to consider moving either one of them. - jd250
Isn’t that part of being a Good? Even decent? Ok mediocre GM….like Hextall was the first ever GM to have a plan to get younger and replenish a farm system. |

I really like Gavin Brindley and have made that known. Good chance he is there at 22, though obviously no idea what they think of him. He may also be the type that drops a little.
Harts value I am all over the place. Really don't know what to expect if he is moved. - hello it's me 2050
Hard to say what his value really is…I would think a late 1rst rnd 2023 in the least. It’s not only about what Hart has done up till now…it’s about projecting what he is capable of over the next 5-6 years. Unless the Flyers see a deal that makes total sense there really is no hurry to move him. |

I don’t think Anaheim would do it but a team making big trades and big signings the last two off seasons, I truly believe Columbus would do either Carter Hart or Travis Konency and the 7th overall pick for the 3rd overall pick and something minor. |

I think Jarmo feels the heat so he's making a ton of win-now moves. Will be fascinating to see if it pays off. If Merzlikens doesn't bounce back I think it's all in vain. |

Something minor? How about Kevin Hayes 2.5 retained? It really comes down to what DB thinks of the guy he can get at #3 compared to the guy at# 7. |

Something minor coming back. The 7th pick and TK alone are big pieces. |

While losing Provorov will hurt the team, it was the right move with all the factors involved. It is encouraging and a sign that the team understands what it has to do. Hextall knew what had to be done but needed to be executed better. So having the right plan is only half the battle. - MJL Hextall couldn't pull off the kind of trade that Briere just pulled off on his best day.

LMAO. Hextall made a better trade than Briere made. Doesn't mean the Provorov move wasn't a good move. Did you do any actual thinking before making that rushed knee jerk comment? |

Quantity rarely gets you quality. One of the biggest fallacies that many fans think is if we give them enough lower quality assets, they'll give us the big prize. - MJL
maybe true for lower picks. not for first round.

That's incorrect. A top 5 first round pick has more value than 2 first round picks in the 20's for example. |

It’s extremely hard to gauge if a goalie is going to be good these days, look at all the blunders out there (Jack Campbell). Even Bob prior to this year. Hart is a starting nhl goalie with upside, he’s had one horrid season on a team that was one of the most pathetic on ice performances I think I’ve ever seen. The tape tells you that Hart is a much better bet than what’s out there. I think nhl GMs see this and would much rather Hart than rolling the dice with a Campbell, Adin Hill, swayman, etc |

wasn't talking about value of the pick. in the scenario given i would want the additional assets for the players to get quality prospects. picking in the first round you should get quality prospects and there have been many selected outside of the top 5 that go on to be elite players. 7th overall should get you quality. having three more first round picks acquired for the players should as well.
this will be a long process. a move like this imo should occur down the road once the team is solidified more. |
