So it had nothing to do with playing against bottom feeders while UPL played against the top-tier teams in the league? Heck Comrie played only 19 games and played against more playoff teams than Anderson.

Anderson was used in for-sure wins and still only posted a .500

- DirtyDan

We need an improvement over all 3.

No one here is clamoring to bring back Comrie or Anderson.

Pick one of Anderson/Comrie/UPL.

None of them should be on this roster

Take Levi out of the equation and I'm fine with UPL here. But yes pick one of Levi/UPL (obviously everyone will choose Levi) and find a proven goalie for the now to pair them with.

Yeah, expert insider SabresTaco said it was a nothing burger that he missed OTA's. He claims he knows more than the local beat reporters. Wonder if missing Mandatory MiniCamp is a nothing burger too? Mickey D said he is very concerned. Not know it all SabresTaco though.

I'd hope the guy with 700 NHL games played is better than the rookie. But given he played only 10 games against playoff teams I don't think coaching even thought that.

Idk I'd hope the 24 year old second round pick was better than the 42 year old

No one lives forever, no one. But with advances in modern science and his high level income, it's not crazy to think he can live to be 245, maybe 300.

A lot of goalie talk today, don’t you think if UPL wore a helmet like Haseks the problem would be solved?

Thing about VGK that *really* helps them be good is the same thing they get derided for by some.
They have no sunk cost fallacy.

Pay a 1st/2nd/3rd for Tatar...send him away with a 1st (Suzuki) and 2nd for Pacioretty.

Pay a 1st to dump Pacioretty to CAR to create cap space.

They don't care. The only question is "will this make us better"? As it should be in sport."

Would Vegas go with UPL next year? This is all sunk cost to me. Hoping UPL will get better because you invested a pick and time in him.

It's time actively try to get better and not just hope it all happens internally and falls into place. UPL had his opportunity, time to move on.

Hear me out the rant that Diggs went on after the Bengals game on the sideline was directed directly at Josh Allen because Diggs is now jealous They are not hanging out anymore. Allen is big timing Diggs now that he’s a $40 million quarterback.

Diggs was pissed that Joshua sleeping around the night before and told him to stop banging those Hollywood Broads.

Josh and Diggs are no longer friends.

Just restructure his contract, cut him, and sign Deandre Hopkins.

SABRES 89 would take the 44 million cap hit just to get him off the team.

There is some awful, terrible asset management in their past. They may be on the cusp of winning a cup, but I don't think that it changes some of the brutal decisions that they have made. I dare say that the west was extremely weak this year.

Yeah but none of that changes that the stats say that UPL cost them a game and a half over his starts. Are there other factors? Absolutely. They had no answers when Samuelsson got hurt because they didn't have another 3/4 D.

Both of these problems will recur this season unless they're addressed.

If Adams decides to roll with UPL this year and it goes badly again, he absolutely deserves to lose his job.

- Hank Balling

What if Adams signs hill or trades for Varlamov, and it goes badly, should he lose his job?

What about griese?

Thinking some more on this... "are we better today" is the completely wrong question to ask. The question should be "does a move get us closer to winning the cup". They are two fundamentally different questions.

That's part of the point, when they make a mistake, they aren't afraid to quickly move on.

Draft and develop can't be the only route to improving.

If things go badly, even if one of those guys is your starting goalie, it will be because of one of two things: 1.) the team was decimated by injuries, much like Columbus was last season 2.) Adams did not adequately address the defense, particularly at RD (this is why Adams should try and get Tyler Myers).

Who cares...?

The lessons seem to be:
-don't worry about what happened yesterday, will doing "this move" make us better tomorrow? Have no ego.

- kingcong39

You can't see or understand the viewpoint of a franchise seeing a prospect through, beyond a reasonable doubt ?

Of course the Sabres have put a lot into upl's development.

Their owner has been a kid in a candy store when it comes to new shiny things. Congrats, they aren't afraid to make mistakes. They've made some absolutely terrible moves mixed in with the good ones. The fact that they moved on doesn't impress me much - most teams love to get rid of bad contracts.

He's made bad decisions in goal for 2 straight seasons. If he doesn't try to improve, that should put his job at risk.
