Can you imagine the team not interviewing "top 10" prospects simply because they're not slated to pick top 10. That would be gross negligence.

I believe it's general practice to interview even the best, out of reach players to get a feel of who they are in case an opportunity arises down the line.

You said for Chicago, not Buffalo. Put yourself in their shoes. How does getting a couple vet players in their primes help the rest of their poopty team?
