Winning the cup is a true indicator of who won trades. As of today the Eichel and ROR trades are down. When Tuch and Tage lift the cup in 3 or 4 years the trades can be reevaluated. |

So in 94, when the Rangers traded away Tony Amonte to the Hawks for peanuts, that was a actually a good trade because the Rangers won the cup anyways? |

Interesting, don't see any Big names there from the prospect pool - Buff36
Ya know what's always humorous to me? All of these trade proposals with all these top notch prospects. I'm going to scroll through the trade tracker from June 15th, 2022 to right this very second and identify every single "A" prospect that was traded:
-Vitali Kravtsov (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111)
-Aatu Raty for Bo Horvat, came with a cap dump. He was probably the Islanders best prospect, which doesn't really say that much. Maybe he's a B+.
-Ben Bishop, and that's cheating because that was June 10th.
That's the whole list. |

Tell me who was traded for Fiala or Manson. Hasn't been a goalie worth what Saros will cost. |

Fiala was Brock Faber. Not an A prospect.
Josh Manson was traded for your boy Drew Helleson. He isn't considered a top 15 prospects in the Ducks org.

We may have seriously underestimated how much buying power Mittelstadt has as a trade chip. The analytics community has now joined the chat. |

Who would probably be used for high end offers:
Rosen, Neuchev, Novikov, Kisakov, Poltapov, Nadeau and Lindgren.
If you're thinking Ryan Johnson, don't bother. |

IMO if you are a GM every trade you make should be with the thought of winning the cup now and secondly securing the future to once again win the cup.
KA will never be in a better situation to make this happen then now. He has to stop with the baby steps and run run run. |

If that's what you get out of that I guess I could be a Blues fan who now is a Knights fan posing as a Sabres fan. Could be a Panthers fan next year |

Mitts going megamode certainly opens up some really interesting trade props. Can he be used to grab a guy like Cernak? Backfill him with Bertuzzi, you still have a spot for a prospects with Olofsson out of the way.
I dunno, could be cool. |

That's cool, looks like it could be cheaper than I am expecting if Adams does anything. |

Quinn or Peterka, they are getting older and could block these prospects from further development in the NHL

The last time an A prospect was traded was for an elite, Stanley Cup winning center.
That prospect? Mr. Krabs. |

according to one value chart, the Sabres 2nd round picks are worth 960 points. Same as the 16th-17th pick in the first round.
Wonder if the Sabres do quality over quantity, or just decide to stack the pool. |
