I'm sure they do, but you never how it's going to come together in such a tight period. - Lunaion
Speculation is it may come together before that period begins. |

Hope some of it does. Would love a trade or two before the draft.

yeah i think if you leave it to the draft you run the risk of some guys being pulled off the market. I don't think they want to get caught missing out on everyone. |

Hearing much? Getting a VO move done before/at the draft would be nice.

Honestly his value is almost nothing. What is Adams getting?
An irrelevant 3 to 5th round pick?
He’s an extremely limited player that can’t skate and doesn’t battle in corners.
He would’ve gotten eaten alive during playoffs |

Hadn't heard anything new on VO, worst kept secret is theyve wanted to move him for a while now.
I know the analytics dept is putting in a ton of work for defense not just names but structure and areas of weakness, like entry defense. Educated guess is they add at least one before the draft. I think the blue line is the priority now. |

Why do I think it's going to be some random person a casual fan has never even heard of? Teemu Perevinan - a 2nd round draft pick out of Dallas in 2021, he only has 40 GP but his underlying numbers are solid. |

Would love for them to add a different kind of forward like Barbashev then they already have.
I know they love all 'their' guys, but he would be a nice addition, and it would allow them to move someone out for defense help. |

If they do that it will be for the bottom pair, not for power. But I do expect theyll do that kind of move, for D and forward. |

Barbashev is exactly the player the dept tells you to avoid though. His underlying numbers outside 7 games in the playoffs are pretty awful and those games are gunna get him a nice pay day. |

I don't know. Let's see. Maybe there's more demand than we'd think.

I think Adams sticks with UPL Levi and Comrie
The only “big move” this offseason is trying to get a top 4 defensemen for cheap (cheap as in not selling top prospects)
Our forward group is basically in place already. They proved they can score. Offense was not the problem. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it type mentality. - Sabretooth9
So welcome back Tyler Myers
1 million salary
6 million cap
After July 1 st

It’s possible. I just don’t see it. The Sabres even benched him down the stretch and he was at 28 goals for the season.
That is saying something. Greenway over olofsson down the stretch. And greenway has literally no skill and skates horribly |

Think his point holds though. Lot of soft, skilled F's on the team and coming up. Maybe not Barbashev, but someone similar.
Pretending Girgs + Okposo are grit is not a long term plan.

Yeah having a diverse forward group is vital too. Not even just through grit. They could use another playmaking type in the top 9. Their drafted guys are mostly speed/shot or speed/defense. Id think that was their goal adding greenway too.

Normally I'm on your side of this rant. It's just kicking a dead horse now. Time to find out what they can do. I can live with a buyout, if it came to that. Rumor is a few teams calling, I'd be happy with just about anything.

It's an interesting puzzle. Don't think we'll learn a lot about their long term plans at F this summer, but I'd love to know what they are planning.
Imagine we'll learn a lot about D and G. |

I think it’s possible after they add a top 4 D (assuming they do) that we could see a Jokiharju for middle six forward swap.
I don’t think they bring Jost back, and I think Girgensons is a goner |

im fairly confident they will but it's the Sabres so that has its limitations lol
I dont think Jokiharju has that kind of value but even if he does, internally a lot of people still like him
I think with so few open roster spots for Kulich, Rosen and Rousek to crack, they probably wont add another forward this summer unless its too good to pass up.
You're probably right about Jost though |

Think in the right situation, Olofsson would flourish. It's Just finding that team that has a very good 2 way Center. |

Think we've agreed before, the next wave of contract extensions is significantly harder. Joker will be coming off this bridge and I'd have to think there's a lot of disagreement on him.
There's gotta be a voice saying now is a great time to move on.

There is, same voices that convinced management that Jokiharju isn't good enough for the top 4. You can probably guess which side of the front office is pushing this. |

Just a hunch, but the guys who convinced KA not to go long term on VO. Hope they are gaining credibility and influence.
