Whether they go forward or d-man, there aren’t many players they can take in that spot that I think I’d be upset with.

Going to be 5 or 6 guys available at 13 that I’d take in that spot and sleep peacefully (especially if a wild card like Michkov, Benson, or Moore fell into our lap)

- Swedish_Jesus

Michkov seems unlikely to get past the Caps, Moore looks like a fit for the Wings to me, Benson could be the annual “small guy that drops in the draft”.
We saw in the Embedded vid how hard KA tried to move up for Kulich. He may be motivated to do that again. Who knows, gonna be fun to watch though.

Perhaps I should get some sleep, but I think 39 and 45th in terms of value is equivalent to a late first.

I would probably take my chances with the caliber of prospects available this year instead of Edmonton’s late first next season.

All we would need is Carolina to agree with that sentiment.

- Swedish_Jesus

Maybe but Im also thinking theyd move the pick they get for pesce, probably for some shooting talent.

The optics matter too. You cant go to the conf finals, then deal a top 3 D-man for 2nd rounders.

Even the fairweatherest of Carolina fans will lose their minds (rightfully)

Adams should be on the Jet on his way to get Tanev, if this is the cost!!

I do wonder what the real cost is.
33YO, $4.5m Cap Hit for 1 year, low point producer, not a hitter, blocks shots, 2nd Pairing guy.
Colorado stole a 25 yo Toews who had similar analytics but better point producer for 2 2nds right?

Would Joker + '23-3rd get it done?
Olo + '24-2nd?

It's actually equivalent to a mid first. Was just mentioning yesterday according to one of the draft value charts, the points for 39 and 45 equal 16/17

28 years old, 1 year to UFA, top 4 guy? I think Carolina and their fans are underwhelmed with the return. His defensive metrics were not all too special this year. Maybe they'd have legitimate use for Joker and Olofsson. Include a 2nd and amid tier prospect and I think you've got a deal.

I agree, just pointing out that I wouldn't expect the cost to be crazy.

I have advocated hard for an older , defensively solid guy for 2 year term.
I'd be down with it for sure.

With hindsight would you still pick Quinn at 8?

Time will tell. I think Perfetti and Lundell will both end up higher on redrafts in the end. He'll jump guys like Drysdale and Holtz, so he's fine at spot 8, but not necessarily our best option at the time. Fair?

Fack no. Drury can keep every one of his untouchables.
