Id need to know who is there at 13 first. This probably gets it done if CAR doesn't extend him.

But I also dont think it'll be that high if they decide to move him. Im almost certain if it comes to that, CAR won't extend and deal him nor will they let anyone talk extension before the deal.

I just assume if you're taking on that risk, it lowers the price.

My thinking is that they only move him knowing ahead of time he's going to extend with that team.

They won't get much as a rental so it doesn't make sense sacrificing a core player while trying to contend in 2023/24 for a minimal package.

This will be a big trade or no trade imo

The decision isn't going to be a hockey related one. Dundon has probably relayed to mgmt to extend whichever of pesce or skjei is cheaper. And then flip the assets they get for the other to add some shooting talent.

It's not a bad idea in theory if they can pull it off for the right players.
