It makes sense though. Talented guy goes to a team that would prefer to wait for some of their guys to hit the roster until they have a new home nailed.

Interesting, very interesting.
If they could negotiate an extension now for that ~$6m as a 1LD, I wonder if Samuelson could be very comfortable on his R at 2RD next to Power.

- IonSabres

Power can play RD

I love the accounting analysis, but leaving it without a recommendation with names was a bit disappointing.
I agree with his assertion that the Cap be damned approach won't work.
Also, he did some of the legwork as far as future cap being consumed rather quickly in 2 years time and beyond...but another conclusion he missed was replacing existing guys with prospects in the pipeline on elc when those existing guys come up for extensions.

Close, but fell a bit short.

Me too. A big guy who can score and is a net front presence would be very welcome. I think hime bringing that play then serves him up as a possible replacement for Tuch or Skinner on the top line, or on L2.
He is definitely on my radar...appropriate ranking for a 13th pick and fits a need for size/scoring.
The fact that he is already improving one of his "Cons" of poor skating is very encouraging.

Agree, think Buffalo will be able to splurge a bit more on D if Adams chooses, he should have enough ELC's and 1st contracts at Forward to align the cap a bit differently

Adams is going to have some nice choices at 13! Could give Adams multiple scenarios, gonna be teams calling if he hasn't already made a move by the pick.

"KA will have some flexibility in 2027 (or 2026 if absolutely necessary), so my guess is him staying patient looking for a good deal until then."

This made me literally lol. Just hang on til 2027

To be fair, there is context around the quote. The author was pointing out when they will and won't have flexability.

Realistically 2032/33 season will be the most flexible, the cap is expected to rise then giving Adams child options as incoming new GM

Does wood get extra bonus points for being tall?

I feel you're being a bit impartial 😉

Phins with high hopes/expectations for the season.

Meanwhile, ESPN’s Herm Edwards predicted the Dolphins will win the AFC East and identified the Dolphins as the biggest threat to Kansas City, if Tua Tagovailoa can stay healthy. “This offense is electric…. I don’t know how you defend these guys.”

Next Gen Stats noted this week that Tagovailoa threw for a league-high 1,664 passing yards targeting vertical routes last season, over 250 more than any other quarterback. Josh Allen was second at 1392.

Breaking: #Yotes  lose one of their 3 retained salary (RS) slots for the next 8 years.

We recently learned that a buyout on a RS contract results in the original team losing a RS slot for the whole buyout duration

We've already updated the site to reflect that new understanding!

Wild stuff.
