I'm sure Dubas will do a good job in Pittsburgh.
He is a very capable GM who always has a plan.
He will have some tough decisions to make in the next while. will be very interesting to watch.

I hope you're right. Some people have said they gave him a 7 year deal and total control lol.

Assuming the buyout of Granlund is just a formality, he's going to have around 24mil to spend. I think it's going to be one of the most interesting/entertaining summers we've ever had around here.

hahaha I dont know that Ive been all that positive around here since the back to back cup days. Even said the past few off seasons I thought it was realistic the Pens didn't make the playoffs in the upcoming season. I'm a realist and the reality of the Pens was more positive 5/6 years ago. I know in sports there's always chances of surprises, and upsets, but the people being just straight up pessimists, of which there are a lot, both around here and in real life, have the best chance of being right a lot of times in pro sports. Success and championships are very hard to achieve.

Hearing about Stan is gut wreching. I remember watching him every evening on Channel 4 and calling Pens games on KBL. Definitely lost a piece of my childhood.

Terrible loss. Stan was the best kind of throwback. Never in it for the "takes" or clicks. A true pro.

Either Hey Jealousy or Follow You Down. Was never into them but they were always playing in the background of my bar days while shooting pool (or on the radio driving around for my job). 90s flashback.

Hey, I didn't ask what the best Tragically Hip song was...yet. I mean, who could pick? Canada, amirite!?

Actually I was just listening to a random 90s songlist and came across a few. I put them with the Goo Goo Dolls, they both had a handful of hits in a really short time, and I could never decide on a favorite of theirs either.

hahaha...I like "The Hip" but I'm not like a full blown fan of them like so many others I know. They were great live though, Gord Downie (RIP) had a great stage presence.

As for Gin Blossoms and Goo Goo Dolls, they have some catchy songs but I was never really into them that much. Back when they were pumping out hits I was heavy into bands such as Metallica, Pantera, Pearl Jam and Smashing Pumpkins.... and also rap like Wu-Tang....so as you can imagine the Judgement Night soundtrack had a lot of spins as well hahaha

Their heyday was on the edge of me entering my "If it's not punk then I don't like it!" phase that lasted until the mid-2000s (i.e. my middle school through college years). But really, as for pop/rock, I don't think I missed all that much past 1996. Definitely getting more into metal now. Are you going to any of the Pantera (sort of) shows? Why they're playing Burgettstown (never heard of it before) and not Pittsburgh makes no sense.

Man, Judgement Night...damn. I just checked out the track list, I'm interested in the Slayer /Ice T songs. I loved The Crow soundtrack, that was more my thing.

Yeah, it's terrible about Dimebag, the whole thing just makes no sense. Still, they're one band I never got to see, so it should be a good time.

I loved The Crow soundtrack as well...and at least Phil will be there, should be a good show regardless, I just wouldn't spend all the money to go see them without Dimebag. For you its probably a fairly short drive hahah...I'm on an island in the Atlantic off the east coast Canada. Travel is a b!tch from here.

Hands down best mosh pit I was in. Fukking Hostile blasting while moshing is a top 5 memory for me. Pits at Slipknot shows are badass, too!

Saw them in 08 at Mayhem festival. Wild time. 06 Ozfest was fun too. First time seeing System live.

It's right by the city, has a huge outdoor concert venue. They set up multiple stages so they can keep the main stage ready for the big bands. It's actually really cool (except for the parking and traffic because it's a f'ing nightmare.)

One time I went to this dive bar in college and this middle aged long hair was doing an acoustic set. I went up to him and asked him to play what was in his opinion the most important song from the 90s. He broke out in Lightning Crashes by Live.
