Both are great names. Dragicevic sounds like a dragon from Croatia (my friend would love it, since she's from there) and Bonk, every time he hits someone you can just say-

Oh I completely understand why they'd pass on him.
And it's not like they're gonna pick some 4th liner or third pairing defenseman instead. The guy they can take should be a very good player.
But it's hard to pass on that kind of talent/production without looking back.
- Scabeh
On the other hand, they did pick a 4th liner with the 1st overall pick last year, hard to say he will be very good after managing 10 points and -13 in his rookie season.

1: That bad joke was already made.
2: It IS a joke since he only played 30 games at 18 years old right? You don't actually believe he's a bust after so little? |

Jokic's press conference is pretty (frank)ing annoying To each their own on how they feel about the things that they do...but man you see Murray a Canadian crying after winning to Jokic saying "nobody likes their job" when asked if he is happy about the championship and being visibly annoyed and saying he wants to go home when realizing the parade is on Thursday is quite pathetic.
The only reason you are a millionaire is because of the fans paying to see you, show some gratitude and passion ffs. Like what the (frank) is wrong with him

No but he did play 39 games, and its only a bad joke if you are a Habs fan and are sensitive about the pick.
If you look at objectively, Yakupov scored 31 points and was -4 in 48 games. He was also on a pretty bad team and is certainly in the conversation for a really bad pick at #1. On the bright side, DiPietro and Stefan were probably worse. |

You gotta know Joker to know enjoy what he was doing. He was having fun ..he's got a really really dry sense of humour. He's super humble and all about the team ...zero ego. He's the first guy in the pool partying once the camera's are off. There's some really good writeups about him out there that give you a good appreciation for him. He's a pretty cool dude. |

I can’t wait for the disappointment from leafs nation because either none of the core gets moved or the return isn’t anything like the fantasies.
It will be amusing. - Dozzer
You won't have to wait too long because the core isn't getting moved.

Geez, like a tape played back 10+ years ago about Patty Kane.....3 Cups later.....
Guys, it is NOT about one guy. It is about TOO MANY of that kinda guy. If Marner played with a more balanced team around him with guys with a different skill-set. Leafs would be on their way. Matthews, Marner, Willy and Tavarez as a 4-some just bring ZERO physical, zero grit, and not enuf will to get the dirty, hard goals. Move any one of them for 2-3 really good guys that can supply this would make a world of difference.
I suspect they TRY to add these elements while keeping all 4. I just don't think they will have the money to do so adequately.
So, pick one....make the move....bring in the E Kane, Thatchuk, Bertuzzi, Wilson types....at least a couple. (Not those guys specifically....but that type).
Don't see them going deep filling in around the "Core 4"....just too much of the soft skill, not enough of the "Playoff grit".... - hawk35
I find this take to be simply not believable.

Thank you from mutha(frank)ing Chi-town. This guy gets it.
This is the bottom line and has been for the past 6/7 years.
I love Marner, Nylander, Matthews - favorite and MM is pretty close, JT not as much love for the $ but he's a solid player, same as Rielly solid offensive D and his $ is fine.
Great (frank)ing players. Fantastic.
Too much money for so much soft.
No balance in the roster. Plain and simple.

It's hard to argue against. Love them or hate them, that group has not been able to carry a team onward. They haven't.
But also, players typically don't until they do. |

The talent is the tough stuff to replace. Thumpers much less so. Panthers won't make the playoffs next year. Bettman will be happy to see Vegas lift the cup, nothing will do more for promotion of the game (and pro sports gambling - which powers major sports now)

Ahh yes, the old "this is why we can't have nice things" argument. Contentment with losing while being entertained. Popular segment in the fanbase. |
