Just kidding around and having some fun! Personally I like the contract as it meets the team's and the player's goals. Also think we'll see Timo sign by Sunday/Monday at $72M for 8 years ($9M AAV). Hoping we don't have to go to $75M.

I think it's a pretty frontloaded deal so it probably wouldn't be too bad if it had to be done in the last 3ish years. Makes him more tradeable too if it got to that point lol.

Agree with Timo, I don't think Fitz would've said what he said if he wasn't confident something was going to get done. Would be nice to get it done by the draft/free agency. If I had to guess, I think he'll come in at ~8.75M.

I think Fitz will be looking to upgrade the top 6 if he can, but i highly highly doubt that comes from free agency. This class is considerably weaker than previous years. I could definitely see Fitz checking in on Bunting and Tarasenko, but I assume they price themselves out of coming year. Barbashev would've been a target prior to the playoffs, but there's a ton of talk he could be getting a 7 year deal in FA, so that's not happening here lol. Maybe they take a look at Zucker, see if he'll take a Tatar type deal? Honestly though I think we're more likely to see a trade to upgrade our forward group, if anything happens. Someone on a somewhat cheaper/shorter term contract, like Nick Schmaltz should be a target.

Bottom 6-wise, maybe take a look at Evan Rodriguez. I feel like a lot of these guys are prime candidates to be overpaid in either AAV or term, but Engvall would be a nice add. Jesper Fast. Pius Suter. Nick Bjugstad depending on what happens with McLeod. Theres not too much available lol. Again, we could see a trade here to improve the bottom. Maybe someone like Ross Colton from Tampa, with Sharangovich and a pick going the other way? Idk. I think we'll see a little re-shaping of the bottom 6, but no idea who could be an actual target.

I think if there's one thing I'd be willing to bet on when it comes to free agency this year, it's that I believe we'll be signing a vet D for the 3rd pair in case Nemec isn't ready. Luke Schenn, Connor Clifton, Radko Gudas. Someone like that.
