Ryan Reynolds group buys out the Aquas?
- Nighthawk

He'll never sell, it would be an admission that he failed, he'll keep it even if it bankrupts him.

After the big buy out, no roster predictions? You’ve changed man.
- bloatedmosquito

I'll guess they make a trade on draft day.

There is a huge bitterness from past failures and many jaded fans express that. So it’s the safe bet to go negative. Now whatever happens it won’t satisfy everyone.

However, something will go down soon. Would a series of moves adjusting the roster be the way to go?

If it goes down to draft day that may involve the 11OA which will freak people out.

We are just along for the ride either way.

I checked outside and there was no meteors heading towards earth, so I am not sure what is happening today but you are making the most sense.

Of course there are going to be follow up moves.

Are we just passengers on this bus? Or as paying customers do we have a say in how the bus is driven? I wish more fans realized the power they hold in this situation. Stop financially supporting this crap. Force change. Don’t fall for the narrative that just because this privately owned business has Vancouver in its name that we must show loyalty and blindly follow without question.

- bloatedmosquito

We can’t drive the bus so choice comes down to stay or get off it. People who dislike things usually stop supporting with money but that doesn’t change anything.

The casual fans and season ticket holders mostly corporate do voice things that are heard. Do you think they are saying rebuild for 10 years so I can pay to watch crap? I bet they are saying give me something to cheer for to keep paying.

I'm settling on Willander, Wood, Dvorsky, or Yager. Simashev or Leonard would be fine as well but I'm less on them over those 4.

Still think finding a reasonable trade down could net Van 2 very good prospects.

Canucks will draft Danielson if they keep the pick and there would be your fix on 3C . Bring in Bjujdstadt for 2 years as he develops.

Nighthawk may be onto something with Byram but it will be a trade not an OS. Hirose will make the team. Still need to figure out the RHD trade, I guess it could be a UFA signing.

I was a season ticket holder for 15 years. Walked away after the Vigneault firing and Torts hiring. That was the last straw for me. Haven’t really invested any money or time since. Might not make a difference in the big picture, but if more had followed my example, the team might be in a different situation today.

That would work, won't be cheap. Whoever they draft won't be contributing the next couple of years at best, if they want results it will be via trade. Woo, Juulsen, Burroughs aren't an upgrade to the D, they have to do something. Hopefully not the UFA route unless it's a short term team friendly deal (Schenn etc.)

That is why I said in Bjug for two years. I am comparing Danielson to Bo and he played almost immediately after being drafted as a 3C.

I would hang onto Juulsen there was some things I liked about how he finished the year. I would give him one more look at the number 7 spot.

Those parting shots by Schenn has me wondering if other end-of-career but still useful free agents will stay away from this team. Didn’t he say something about the Canucks not caring about family? That was a hell of a shot.

I am fine with replacement level defenders for their entire careers that whine about something like that don't sign in Van. 15 seasons and he has been in the playoffs 5 times and never played more than 11 games.

Money talks. The players that will avoid Vancouver will avoid it for their reasons not because Schenn was pissed.

Schenn's statement could be part of the reason piled on with Pearsons LTIR, OELs buyout, the team sucks, and it is part of Canada but not just because of Schenn.

Smart and cap management don't belong in the same sentence with this organization. They just paid a guy around 20 mil to play elsewhere...and to be on the books until 2031.
- Load Management

Biting the bullet on JB’s eff up.

What comes next will decide how this new regime measures up. I still am very apprehensive on the 3rd & 4th year hit. Idc about future cap increasing cuz that alone eats up big cap space to navigate.

But if we are looking for players who are willing to play on a discount contract (like VHG said) you got to be an attractive destination. Has the approach of management and ownership created an attractive destination?

I’m guessing something else has been in the works & something gives before then. Basically saying the 1st isn’t in play or yet.

CBJ for a RHD?
NYI for Pageau for Garland?

Any other ideas or rumours out there that might have legs?
