You'd have to think that if both Pellikka and Reinbacher go in the top 10, a player like Moore would become available. I'd be very happy with him.
I also think Willander is a better fit on the right side with QH than Pelikka who looks to be weak on D. Reinbacher will be gone by 11th 100%.... - boonerbuck
Moore falling to us is slim at best. |

I’m saying whatever an arbiter decides is likely fair value contract. Then you have some time to trade him. Costs nothing on the salary to have him on LTIR. If he comes back and plays well you trade him. If not he walks next year. No harm in letting him continue to play into value. I’m not saying we keep Bear, I agree he shouldn’t be part of the long term plans. - neem55
The arbitrator is not going to offer him league minimum, which is exactly what he is worth. The arbitrator will almost always offer around the QO or better.
Secondly The Canucks QO can only be 10 % less than his last contract which is around 2 mil which he will gladly take and as he walks off thinking these guys are idiots.
Knowing Canucks it will probably be a two year deal. If you just bought out OEL to save 7 mil to improve your team and you turn around and spend 2 mil on a player of Bear's caliber you are then witnessing the second coming of Benning. PA did this with BB and JTM and look at everyone complaining. At least Benning let Hutton become a free agent and signed for less after that.
At some point you have to learn from previous mistakes. Bear will not improve this team one iota.

Dermott has concussion issues so not in the picture. Holl too costly. Depth D are not in abundance so comes down to need & value. So play hardball with Bear it’s the way to go. RFA is cheaper than the UFA route. - Nighthawk
At some point someone has to realize signing a #7 Dman for two mil is just stupid.
Some of you guys just have to learn to let them go.

There is no way there is 96 RHD in the league ahead of Bear. He’s a 3rd pair D. There is not nor ever has been enough RHD to go around. Few teams if any have surplus RHD. Just a fact bro. |

I am not sure how many Right Hand Shot D there are. Many NHL Dmen playing on the right side shoot left. |

I’m not saying Bear is great but there is a lack of RHD in a sport that is strangely left hand dominant. An anomaly yes but he is a bottom pairing depth D. Therefore price will always be subjective unless an aged vet like other hanger oners on the cheap like Schenn that explains why he fetches a 3rd. Explains why lefties get used as well. |

I will be very disappointed if they sign Bear for 2 mil regardless of how much of a shortage there is. It would just be more of the same mistakes over and over.

Wrong.
You don't fix the team by bringing back the same crap. They have to have something on the burner. |

The arbitrator determines value, which is likely above league minimum. Because that’s what he worth. The purpose of signing him is to trade him, which will improve the team long-term. Big picture is we’re not good next year, so start preparing to trade at the tdl. Beauvillier, Bear and Myers away for d prospects and picks should be the focus imo. |

OEL is gone. Got your wish 👍
Demko is healthy & back to himself.
More changes coming.
Myers won’t see game 82 here.
PK sucked & still sucks the big one til proven otherwise. I don’t expect the same team is back but of course some similarity will return. |
