Will cost more than that. Look at what Povorov cost. - VANTEL
Peeke is close to Provorov? I wouldn't say so. Peeke on a good team Is closer to a 4/5 D.
Edit: he may have had the 2nd worst season last year next to OEL of any D in the league. Minus 41 😆 |

It is actually very easy to trade for an injured Dman. - VANTEL
If he's injured next season I'll agree with you. I didn't see an issue with sitting someone with the playoffs out of reach.
How they surround that move is equally as important. |

Well team needs a top 4 lefty now more than a righty. - manvanfan
That falls into the 25ish age group. Won't be cheap.

We need good D prospects on both sides for sure. We also need another C prospect. |

I liked the trade when it happened but I quickly seen how far OEL had fallen. You have to fix it. It was crazy not to take this year of a 7 mil cap break.
Nighthawk suggested next year but then you are paying him 7 mil to save 2 mil in year 8. - VANTEL
That is what happens with the bloated horrible long term contracts Every GM should be very wary of doing these type of deals But they will NOT because they love spending some elses money LOL |

You don't need D in that range. You need guys that can play now on short deals and be able to draft their replacements. You could spend 2 entire drafts on Dmen and C to fill organizational needs. |

GM are crazy for sure. Two more long term contracts handed out this week.

I think Hirose might fill a left side spot this year. |

I think todays buyout eases the noose of needing to trade now to create space. |

Two problems with this...
a) Canucks don't value draft picks
b) Canucks tend to overlook drafting D.

Or they do and don't develop them properly (or else get injured and aren't what they should/could be) - see OJ, Rathbone, Woo |

OEL was the second most wanted buyout on CF. Suck it # 1 wanted buyout. |

Now trade Miller and Boeser and use that money to extend EP40 and build around him. Make him the Eichel or MacKinnon of the Canucks and build a team like Vegas/Colorado. |

I can't judge what they do this draft until they do it. They've been with the team what an entire 18 months or so? |

Hopefully it works out but we still need like 8 D for the year, same as any other. |

Some cheap replacements with some experience that might cost very little to acquire.
Jake Bean, Marco Scandella, possible Mike Reilly from Boston that may gain Van an asset to take on contract. |

Should leave the 13th forward and 1 D spot open to make some waiver claims at the start of the season. Should be lots of reclamation projects in there this year that might just need a fresh start. |

The important thing is that we got rid of Vigneault. |
