If the sharks want to retain half of his salary sure, although Burns can at least kinda defend.

Not our money yea, but its just bad value to take him at or near his full cap hit. Prevents from making other necessary moves.

Except Karlsson is a winger that happens to line up behind the centre on face offs every so often

I was thinking if buffalo would of promoted them
Nobody would of been happy

So much for appert moving up to buffalo
Doubt they would change the entire coaching staff

And even he is miles ahead of Karlsson defensively.

To put up the number of points Karlsson did this year and still get throttled at 5v5 is impressive.

Well, one of them played on the 2nd best defensive team the other played on the 3rd worst. Pretty sure that had something to do with it. Burns is dogsh¡t at defense, he just happens to play on an excellent defensive team which covers for him.

Karlsson's also 5 years younger than Burns.

Burns' defensive numbers in SJ were still better than what Karlsson's were this year. Granted, Im not sure Karlsson tried all that hard defensively.

Still, not sure he's the move.

EK65 would be so awesome here

We would score like 7 goals a game

Who needs defense

We have young Jedi Padawan Levi in net

This is the way

Haven't seen his name mentioned, and I have no idea what plans Winnipeg has for next season, but how about this guy as a trade target?

I would take 3 of there D!
DeMelo
Dillon
Pionk- Would be my last choice. Don't know if he was playing hurt, but he looked like he was skating with Cement Skates on at times I watched the Jets.

Dillon will be 33 this November and is a pending UFA.

He had an out of nowhere season a bit, as the season prior did not go well, but he's generally been a solid to strong defender.

No idea if Winnipeg would entertain trading him, and what they would want for him, but he seems like he might be a 2nd pair fit.

If Adams goes full bald, he should be looking to offer sheet in the 5/6 million dollar range for one of these players:

- Force teams hands
- get said player in their prime

Draft pick isn’t as valuable
Too many prospects already
The current process is boring

This range would be a 1st and 3rd round pick in the 2024 draft: $4,290,126 - $6,435,186

Potential Targets:

G - Swayman
D - Evan Bouchard, K'Andre Miller
F - Gabriel Vilardi, Troy Terry

Love to see an OS...after they lockup Power for obvious reasons.
Still, they just don't happen save for 1 or 2 every 10 years.

Trades are the better way to go IMO if it involves uys with some term left.

Would be a big surprise if Adams did that, especially after trying to repair the Vibes around the Organization.

Good list,

Miller is very intriguing to me, I see him as a great fit on the Sabres, the only way that would happen is through an offer sheet.

For either of Bouchard or Miller, you might have to go to the next AAV tier, which is above $6.5M per, and would cost a 1st, 2nd and a 3rd, to get the Oilers or Rangers to seriously think about not matching.

That would mean Dahlin $10M, Power at least $8M, Miller $7M, Samuelsson $4.5M.

That's roughly $30M in the top 4.

Buffalo can afford that, as long as they cycle through low cost vets and defensemen on ELC's for their bottom 3 to 4 roster spots.
