On the bold, I can only pay for and expend time into so many analytics sites, especially when my day job is data science, and I'm currently helping build an entirely new, multi functionality database 😂😆 - kingcong39
lmao yeah fair enough, i wouldnt want too much of that both in and out of my day job either. |

It's bad enough having to do analysis and design for 10 to 12 hours a day for work.
It is often the last thing I want to do 'off hours'. |

He's already had 4 qualifying seasons, so 3 more would walk him to UFA status.
Has he played anything more than bottom pair minutes so far? - kingcong39
Those Covid seasons are so hard to figure out. He looks borderline on both of them. I wouldn't even want to guess on them.

I know they prorated both the 19-20 and 20-21 seasons.
It's normally 40 games in a full 82 game season to qualify, which is just under half, but it's not games played. It is games on an active roster, which makes it more difficult to find out.
I don't think there's a question on the 20-21 season as the league only played 56 games, and he played in 30.
The 19-20 season is the question, but using the normal rule, he played in 31 of the teams 70 games.
He would need to be on the active roster for 3 or 4 more.
I'd be surprised if he wasn't, but who knows, and is the league really keeping close track of that? |

Goaltending RFA options.
Swayman is the MOTO choice, but feels like you'd have to venture to the next tier to get Boston to maybe think twice, and that would cost a 3rd and a 1st.

Some good Convo going. Definitely some decent RFA's to think about Offer sheeting. To bad it hardly happens. Adams would put a Bullseye on his back!! |

That's the catch. He bounced around on the taxi squad, which makes it even tougher to figure out.
I assume they prorated, but still not 100% on that and have never seen exactly how. Do wish CF would tell us which years count, if they know. Still have questions on several Sabres.

Is the calculation for years accrued to arbitration eligibility the same as it is for years to UFA?
Because CF does tell you that. |

There was news that they prorated, but little detail was given aside from the logic followed the normal full season rule, which would be 34 games in 19-20 and 27 games in 20-21. |

Why would things ever be that simple?
It's a different calc, arb eligible years are very low bar and just pro years.

Yeah good point. Although, still a far cry from the davinci code that is the NBA salary cap |

I remember hearing that, but when I look, I can't find anything. The fact that CF doesn't mention it anywhere (that I've seen) makes me a little suspicious.
Teams didn't play equal games, odd games mean some kind of rounding, players got traded, there was a play in round that maybe counts. Some of the guys we've talked about come down to that margin.

You're talking 19-20 only there.
20-21 isn't a question in my mind. |

Just talking generally. I'm sure there's someone on the bubble in 20/21. 19/20 is extra difficult. |

Mitts.
95% sure Joker's 1st year didn't count, but that 5% bothers me.

I think Jokiharju's first season (38 games played, only need 2 more on the active roster to count) and Casey's 19-20 COVID season both count. |

It is. He played in 31 games, like Brannstrom did, that season. |
