I think if he falls past 5, people are going to be trying hardest to move up. There is no way that a 2nd gets that done. - Slump Buster
Maybe. Maybe not. He's 3 years out and that's a definitive turnoff for a lot of GMs at that draft position.

They're a lot of teams that are scared about the timeline for him and need help now
buffalo likes that they can wait and slow cook him - gerbe75pts
Of course they can wait because winning is always secondary to looking 2-3 years down the road at all times.
I’m all for drafting him but of course they’re going to use their assets on something for the future as opposed the present. Of course |

They did take Miro last year though. When a lot of teams didn't want to take the risk.
They love their ruskies, and this would be a no-brainer to have the "next" OV - DirtyDan
Pick 20. He's years away too. I guess they can just build a Russian prospect pool and wait until the Caps just die off before they all come over and rename themselves The Washington Kremlins

Another question that can be asked is, shouldn't the owners just stop being cheap? Pay out the x-millions to set the balance?
I guess. But we all know that's not how the world works. - TheSabresTaco
I always hear the argument for sports and athletes and actors and stuff… they make millions for their companies so they make millions…
I ship 35 million a year for my company and I make 50k.
I really don’t care about these rich kids getting more.

No I mean his ICE team was awful. This was in regards to how much effort Krebs expelled, in contrast to Michkov.

Right, but that is the reason that he isn't taken top 3. Supply and demand - other teams are going to be thinking the same thing that we are.

I think the cost to move up to get him in the 6-10 range will be pricey.
And I don’t think they’re going on a spending spree this offseason.
So getting Michkov imo would be at the expense of adding either the top 4 D or goalie they desperately need for the now
We will see though |

Probably a little different over in Russia. As to how you're treated as a young star player. Tough to say when you're only 17. |

I personally don't believe they'd handcuff themselves like that. We will see.
I don't buy them moving up to 5-6 whatever. But I do think that even if they do move up, they'll have their top 4 D or be using other assets to acquire him.
Doesn't need to be our 1st. Using a top 5/10 2024 1st is absolutely in play.

So reading the tea leaf's.
1. There is clearly someone they are targeting in the draft
2. Veteran help (D, goalie, etc) is coming

To be frank, the Pegula's can sink in the middle of the Atlantic at this point and that will be an improvement on building the Sabres.
Telling fans they will be happy by an ownership that produced 15/16 years of an absolute garbage product and expecting them to be excited is par for the course.
The oil must've gotten to Terry's brain.

Yup, pretty much our Christmas offseason list will come true.
Adams has been working the phones and doing his due diligence like always. Hence why the Sabres are connected to every single goalie and d man |

Dude, that's just rude. We get it, you're tired of no playoffs. We all are. The kid stops in and gives us a little bit of insight - there is no reason to respond like that.
