If Barbashev asks Eichel his thoughts on Buffalo…as well as O’Rielly…who he won cups with both…what are the chances he signs there?
There’s blind hope from passionate fans and there’s reality. - washedup20
Yes, he would completely ignore the tens of millions of dollars being thrown at him for the opportunity to play with a fun and up-and-coming team because ROR told him that the Timmy Ho's drivethru windows can be tricky to navigate.

Get out of your little bubble Buster, the entire league is going to offer him a contract after his post season play and winning history.
Buffalo and New York in general are low on a lot of players lists.
Are you suggesting that the top5 GM is going to over pay a 3rd liner to play in Buffalo? |

To be frank, the Pegula's can sink in the middle of the Atlantic at this point and that will be an improvement on building the Sabres.
Telling fans they will be happy by an ownership that produced 15/16 years of an absolute garbage product and expecting them to be excited is par for the course.
The oil must've gotten to Terry's brain. - washedup20
The problem is the Sabres tried everything else
Pegula try to “buy” a playoff team … ehrhoff, regher, leino ……. That failed
We tanked for Mcdavid / Eichel and tried to speed up the rebuilding by adding Lehner Kane oreilly etc …… that failed.
The one last ditch effort to keep Eichel happy and brought in Eric staal, Taylor hall, and montour …… that failed.
Finally the Sabres take the long way of rebuilding and it’s working.
Now you still want to female dog about the Sabres?
That is kind of hilarious |

Well, yes - I fully expect that someone will pay him way more than he is worth and I will be happy that it isn't us. That said, this stuff about "what if another player said bad things about us" is so tired.

time will tell
could have made a playoff push and they did not
no guarantee we taker another step forward in the fall given
tage, tuch, skinner, cozens casey, dahlin all had career years
tall task to expect them to repeat those numbers
I am not sold on the coach or gm yet |

Players talk to each other, that's how it works. The Sabres made their own bed and Adams is trying his best to dig them out, some things he's done have been good, from my perspective he has missed a lot of opportunity to improve more than what they have, dragging out this turn around.
The stench the Pegula's generated around their team is self inflicted, the only cure is winning.

I think you can scratch Dahlin and Cozo off this list. They are young enough where progression is still expected. |

he is a little more than 2 years from the lowest point in our franchise and we are knocking on the door of the playoffs with an extremely-talented young roster, boatloads of prospects on the way and a salary cap that is looking fine for years to come. I agree with criticism that he should have gotten a D earlier last year... but you're going to kill him for not turning this around faster? You really think that he dragged this out?

Think Power would just flip, don't know if he's the best partner for Power though. Think I would rather have Tanev. |

To be fair, the same things were said last offseason. I don't know if Tage will score that much again, but he doesn't need to. I expect the same or better from everyone else. And we haven't even talked about the JJ and Quinn - I think they each hit 20 this year.
I don't know how you can't be sold on the coach - maybe you wonder if he can be ass effective in the playoffs?

In my opinion, going into next season with the expectation that all those players will either match or exceed there career years of last year is foolish.
Adams is who he is, analytics driven and focused on skill and speed - the consistency of his rebuild helped him find some quality pieces, he has yet to build a winning, well balanced roster though which is concerning.
I don't hate the balding Adams, no killing is needed here - the narrative of be happy with what happened last season and forget the past is a farce until the roster is improved and consistent competitive play leads to wins.
Adams works slow, I have no idea if it will work but there are still too many holes to begin to just start believing its going to work.

Um, ok - so in your book every game was a must-win game after March 1st? They had a dip and then were red-hot after that. Also, I think we all know that the goaltending wasn't good enough before Levi showed up.

I mean he played with two guys who were under a lot of pressure as Sabres and it went horribly for both |

You can't have it both ways. His patience has allowed Meatballs to resuscitate the careers of numerous players that this board (including myself) were done with. It may or may not result in a cup, but this organization deserves a ton of credit for turning a lot of careers around and that matters when it comes to asset management. Sure, was he maybe too patient last fall? Yeah, in hindsight he was. But every other time he let the kids play things seemed to work out for the better so I can't blame him too much for not moving faster.

Here's the thing. If he does nothing of major consequence this summer he will now be "dragging it out". These good young players will need to get paid pretty soon, they look like great cheap assets right now because they are. Drag it out another couple years and that's all out the window. |

Who are they speaking negative about? The coach? ROR wasn't here for him, and Jack has said all the right things publicly. The fans? We adored the players. Is Barbashev not going to come here because ROR told him that Kim wasn't nice to him on the plane? C'mon.
Better yet, what would matter to most to you if you were a free agent? How many franchises are in a better spot than we are right now? Would ROR telling him what happened 5 years ago (whatever it was) really sway you into signing with the Capitals, Islanders, or (insert middling franchise)?

lost by 30 goals
it's a reason for concern
I know you guys like to blame it all on the goalies
when you drop games by 5 to 7 goals, it's not just the goalie
