That 4th line was very impactful in the defensive zone. 5v5 ZG was one of the best defensive forwards in the league.
Like I said yesterday, if his name is anything but Zemgus Girgensons, we'd be satisfied with the acquisition.

In theory our pipeline lacked any goaltending whatsoever and then we proceeded to lose our minds when they took the goalie in the second round last year over what was on the board.

I’m intrigued by Simashev, the toolkit and the fact he was playing KHL minutes at this age is impressive to me despite the lack of points.

Willander id have to see, but considering this is a kid getting a love of love due to a strong U18’s and Swedish U20 play there’s a little more risk involved. What he does at Boston Colllege will be a tell but unfortunately we don’t have a year to wait for him to show that he can do it against men when you have to make the pick next week.

I trust in the amateur scouting staff, I personally think at 13 the best player is a forward, and you can always move forward prospects for d-men to fill an immediate need 🤷🏻‍♂️

If you believe in BPA, how can you say it's a F (without seeing how it plays out)? Are there no D in your top 13?

If this Mitts extension rumor is true, what on earth are they going to do with all these F's is becoming an issue. Trading F prospects for D is difficult and usually loses in trade value. Getting the best pure value in the draft flies in the face of losing value when forced to make trades.

Nothing against BPA, it just has practical limits that they are pushing (or possibly beyond).
