Sounds like the Bills might be re-engaging in talks with Hopkins. Sounds like they are trying to free up another 11mill with restructures, see what happens. |

KA was fast to resign Kylee Okposlow. Why could he not have waited till FA day and see what's available. In my opinion a guy like Lucic in Buffalo would be far more beneficial. |

Really locked himself in with Contracts, needs to move a couple if he wants to play. |

this was pretty thoroughly explained. some don't really want to hear it, but he's viewed as a vital piece to that team. defensively he does his job (with ZG) and he's their leader. some will disagree, but that's why he came back. He had an open invitation and once he decided to play, they'd offer him a year by year contract.
And I can personally tell you it was Buffalo or nothing. |

Lucic is at best a lateral move. He has been a shell of himself for several years. I can listen to the argument that we could do better in his spot (or to let the kids play), but swapping him out for Lucic does nothing for me. He is still fairly effective and he is their captain - I don't have a problem with him coming back for one more. I am betting that this is his last.

way I see it they still have room for two spots. One for Jost, which as of yesterday is likely coming (unless he doesn't accept his role as a part time player) and one for Victor Olofsson's replacement, which ideally is Travis Konecny but won't be, or likely a guy on a one or two year deal that can be swapped out by Kulich/Savoie in the next 24 months or less. |

Here's an idea.
Jakob Silfverberg (50% retained) for Victor Olofsson and a 5th round pick.
Value wise they're similar, Anaheim gets a younger scoring forward, holds onto some celery to help them get to the floor, Sabres get a defensive forward to assist in team defense.
Both on one year deals, can get rid of or keep to potentially make room for prospects. |

Last season the Sabres had:
- the 5th worst PK in the league
- 8th worst goals against
- 7th worst in shots against
I don't see the correlation between those 2 players individual defensive stats translating into team effectiveness.

Their line was extremely strong. Which should speak about how weak the rest of them were.

I think we all understand why they did it, I think most don't understand why both were brought back this early. There's gonna be some opportunities out there, hopefully Adams takes advantage of it still. |

Sabres are trading fit Mcdavid!
My prediction Mitts resigns lol |
|

I mean Gerbe said few days back that things in house were about to go down then we got Girgensons and Rousek re-signings.
Sticking with that theme, I’m thinking Mittelstadt extension or Olofsson trade |

I agree with the notion the rest of the lines are terrible defensively.
Strong against who and when?
They failed at the PK, who is playing on that next season? |

Like I said. Once Kyle had decided he wanted to play, he was coming back. There was no reason to delay, it was inevitable.
As for ZG, he came back for much of the same reasons, I think he wanted to see if he could get term and likely realized he wouldn't. So he said (frank) it might as well go back to Buffalo. |
