Tatar, Accari are FA, Carrier cost 1.4m. Yes we needed to bring back certain players in June. |

Why do we deserve it, think this fan base deserves a few Happy days thanks to the Organization. - Buff36
I meant the board, for the way he is treated sometimes when he pops in. Of course the fanbase deserves good things :-)

Well I can say I am happy with the growth of the young core. But tired of the same Groundhog Day crap and basically running it back. Yes it's early in the offseason so there is hope. Tired of the lip service and the excuses. Need to see them make the playoffs this year, I mean I Love Hockey. Watching it, playing it, but I think I am done with this team if they don't. In no way or form or shape should it have taken this long to make the playoffs or even to be competitive. - Buff36
Tired of what lip service? Again, there is always a bit of a straw man argument in all of these types of complaints. "Yeah, I know that the offseason hasn't started yet, but I am going to act as if nothing will be done and proceed to complain about it". I think that the current regime has shown that they are extremely patient, and that their patience has been rewarded with huge point jumps and careers resurrected. Where is the lip service? People act as if the offseason is over and TMGM comes out to tell us that he tried but nobody else wanted to play ball. To be honest, if they just nail the 4D I'll be extremely happy. The next point jump will come on the backs of the next jump that the kids will make.

Strawman, they have 22 contracts signed already. That leaves 1 spot, maybe 2 if they make a move. Everyone else seems to play ball, but it's nice Adams tried. And hopefully those kids take that next step, just because a bunch had career years, doesn't mean it will happen every year. Patience is gone, F@cking ridiculous that it's taken this long to even think we might be competitive. |

Good post.
Adams hasn’t mislead the fan base. His comments are consistent with the action taken.
Fans have demanded more and point to 12 years of failure, when in fact the team has had continuous improvement after dumping the underperforming core. It is their own impatience, their own issue. |

I don't know what to say about this anymore. Two years ago we were absolutely nowhere. Yes, the kids did have career years - isn't that what growth is about? It isn't like Zemgus popped in 30 all of the sudden.
I think people also forget that normal people don't spend time on boards like this. It breeds negativity and makes things feel terrible. You see it everywhere in life now - people just want to female dog and moan. We just had one of the most entertaining seasons in my lifetime and are set up to have a window that is going to be wide open for years.... and some want to reflect on 10 years ago? It boggles my mind. TMGM is probably available, if you want him. |

Where are we, we improved. But we are in the same spot Looking in!! Jesus Christ all we needed was a better goalie and we make the playoffs last year. I don't want to hear he tried, not his fault because players wouldn't waive, try harder other goalie's were available. Excuses and lip service. |

I am not completely sure that I follow. i would think that our window should be at least 5 years, if not more. They've set their cap beautifully and made several great signings of their own players. People laugh at the statements about the cap x years from now, but it freaking matters. Look at all of the teams that run out of proverbial gas because they ran out of assets. When you look at it a different way, it really is kind of amazing what they've done in 2 years. They built a fantastic young team and completely re-stocked the cupboard. And on top of it, the cap is fantastic and allows them all kinds of flexibility for years to come. Hell, it might even come this week. If Adams doesn't go out and get a 4D by opening night, I will be the first in line to criticize him. The season ended a week ago.

I think that is where you had it wrong - I've never heard him say that he even tried to get a goalie. Was their patience rewarded in a ton of areas? Absolutely. He rolled the dice with 2 goalies and that's one gamble that didn't pay off. That was his plan and it didn't work out well. As I've said all along, my issue with him was not helping the D earlier in the season. That was low-hanging fruit.

Not gonna talk about Defense, that's been bad since he got here, and he really hasn't done anything about it, well other than walking Montour out the door. |

There’s been a ton of GM speak/lip service from this particular FO.
Imo, I want to hear them say that the goal is now playoffs, and I want corresponding moves that align with those goals |

It matters if it actually means they are going to spend to it and the savings from player x leads to them being able to keep or acquire player Y.
We’ve come no where close to that bridge yet so yes, I think it’s hilarious to celebrate the salary cap as any sort of victory here
