I'm a bit surprised we haven't read anywhere, or maybe I missed it, but if he is so good, why wouldn't he go 2nd overall?
- fidopro

because of all the uncertainties we've previously discussed numerous times here?

Because the country he is in is in a war, he's got a problematic engagement with a team in the KHL and hasn't been able to play in any international tournament in two years which is where 90% of the hype for any given player comes from?

he is amazing offensively in the O zone, rare talent they say but he barely cares about the D zone and rarely carries the play through the neutral zone but the talent he has offensively in unique, he's a game breaker in the O zone. and he is 5'10", small, not physical, for some teams it's a big negative.

I only saw clip of some of his plays, this is straightly based on what amateur scouts are saying.

I think with Caufield already in the mix for 8yrs, Habs need to bring in some size in the top 6 to win in the playoffs.

size matters despite what deadpoulet says. If the Habs didn't have Caufield I would be 100% on board with Michkov to MTL but in the current reality, with what they want to build, he is not the right fit, that's just my opinion.

Momentous occasion today: I have to get dressed up. Hope I remember how to tie a tie.

Quick Matvei Michkov update: He arrives in the U.S. in the next day or so and will be in Nashville by early next week.

His agent Max Moliver has scheduled interviews with multiple clubs, looking to accommodate as many as possible, within reason of course (those teams with picks in Top 10 or so, for example).

First round of the draft goes Wednesday evening. Balance on Thursday.

Hope you enjoy today’s

I wouldn't draft him Pat, I don't think he is what the Habs need for the playoffs.

gonna be a warm day that you'd probably hate here lol. I'm gonna hate it and already am because I'm stuck in a (frank)ing cubicle again, but at least tomorrow I'm home and Monday I'm off, so there's that.

You know who sucks defensively and nobody cares because their birth certificates are the correct type? Bedard, Fantilli, Sale, Moore...oh you know, 90% of the top-15 projected forwards...Perreault and Carlsson aside

yeah, a guy who could be a game-changer with his offensive talent, that would be so silly in the playoffs.

As much as we all love speculating on who goes where, impact going further, etc... we gotta figure that we have to stifle our wants and expectations in favour of what the(for once a seemingly knowledgeable) management decides to do. For all the hype that goes into these drafts, there's always the busts, and the late round pleasant surprises that pop up. No matter what, someone is gonna be disappointed, so let's just wait, see what we get, and hope for the best in the long run? In HuGo we trust, right? At least it's not Bergy and Timmins.

And hi y'all...been a while.
