NewsNation is under fire over an "oxygen remaining" countdown clock for the missing Titanic submersible. - Mashadar
so I'm guessing a submarine controlled with a logitech video game controller and that doesn't have any seats isn't equipped with some sort of emergency sonar emitting device that could help rescue teams locate the damn thing..?

I suspect passengers likely had to sign some form of immunity to lawsuits before going on the trip, but there are some really stupid things they did not consider before launching this thing.

yeah, I think they needed to sign a document basically saying "here are the numerous ways you could die"...

they probably did sign a waiver, but I learned yesterday that these documents usually do not stand in court. they're basically worth nothing. depends on the state.

Given how poorly they were prepared at the launch of the vehicle, I suspect any waiver is not very well thought out as well.

I was surprised to learn about that yesterday. they were saying they make customers sign it and hope a majority of them won't sue, thinking they cannot because of the waiver.
but no. you can still sue, depending on the state like I was saying. usually have 3 years to do so.

Any waiver would likely hold up to so called "Acts of God", but I doubt would hold up to incompetence or lack of proper safety measures. My understanding some of the components of the sub were only certified to go to a certain depth, but this trip was going way beyond that.

yep, works both ways. the customer knows what he's getting in to. you go sky diving, you know you can hurt yourself. but like you say, if there's proof of incompetence or lack of safety measures... go for it.
size matters despite what deadpoulet says. If the Habs didn't have Caufield I would be 100% on board with Michkov to MTL but in the current reality, with what they want to build, he is not the right fit, that's just my opinion. - Symba007

This was the question I had. How is it that it isn't equipped to signal its location over a large area?
